(This story takes place after season 4)
Princess Celestia has been ruling Equestria for quite some time and decides she needs a long overdue vacation. So she creates a plan to have one of her royal guards take her place, an introvert named North Star. He is a simple royal guard who simply never really did much in his life and didn't have much going for him. He was a perfect candidate as nopony would miss him, and his absence would be hidden under the guise of a "secret assignment." North Star accepts and goes through the transformation, turning into a copy of the princess in almost every way. The truth is he feels more alive as the princess and decides that he should try living a little as her. But he also has to realize anything he does will reflect back on the real Princess Celestia and, most of all, he cannot expose her absence.
It's slightly disturbing that Celestia would take a random guard and basically turn them into a copy of herself (changes to the mind and all that)... More disturbing is the fact that he just went along with it without even going through the implications of such a change (most of all the gender change). Doing that out of pity? Well, I can understand that at least, not wanting to ruin her vacation, but... why even change somepony into her in the first place? I mean, Equestria has enough princesses to allow her to go on vacation that she wouldn't even have to look for a stand-in. It would have made more sense before Luna's return and Twilight becoming an alicorn. *shrug*
On the other hand, though? All the possible shenanigans... I can't help but wonder how our 'new' Tia will do during that year and whether or not they would want to change back at the end of it. Heck, they could technically say she is her twin and leave it at that. Certainly something I would say xD
Well, so far, I'm interested enough to keep an eye on this. Could use a bit of editing here and there, but that isn't really that big a deal. Keep up the work, dear! :)

Ok, the reason I stopped updating this story was because the google doc I had that planned out the entire story was deleted off the face of the earth; plus a year ago I still have a few other stories I was finishing up. Luckily I'm getting back into my TF/TG stories and will continue this one soon. I apologize the next chapter will be out before October as I also finish up Maids of Honor.
