Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy haven't been dating long. It's been such a short time, in fact, that they haven't even told most of their friends. Still, though, they can't resist the allure of turning Nightmare Night into a date, even if it means risking other ponies finding out.

“Where’d you find such realistic fangs, by the way?” she asked.
“Oh, um…” Fluttershy mumbled, “they’re not fake.”
Pinkie gasped. “That’s so cool! Why do you hide 'em?

Um, I think the more pertinent question is "How do you hide them?" And, for that matter, "why do you have them in the first place?"

Anyway, fun little tale about an adorable couple, though I confess I'm a touch confused - the story feels like it's in the same continuity as your previous stories about the pair. Admittedly, it's not marked as a sequel or a story in the same world, but the dynamic between them (which, incidentally, I rather like) is very much the same and you make reference to the fact that Rainbow knows about them, which would make sense since, in the previous stories, she was the one who set them up.

However, in the second of those stories, you explicitly talk about Pinkie telling other ponies about their date, but here, it's treated as a secret. So... yeah, not sure what's up with that.

Well, whether or not it's connected, I very much enjoyed this story on its own terms.

It's like. Tangentially connected. It's not a sequel but I ended up writing it with a lot of the same backstory, at least stuff that I thought could stand on its own without the context. So there's not really like, a 'canon' as such, I just kinda plucked out the bits that I thought fit. It's good to know that it was a snag though, that's definitely something to keep in mind in future stories with the two. It's not like it would detract from the stories to have a canon of sorts, anyway. If that happens I'll probly just declare this one non-canon.

I am glad you enjoyed it though! I'm really enjoying writing these two, it is a very fun dynamic.

N'aaaw, they're sooo sweet. It was a nice, short story and you seem to have a knack for these two. I'm glad I finally got around to reading it.
