I ignore (almost) everything that happened after season 6.
There's this guy, I'm not gonna name. He is a pretty bad student, especially in biology, which he really struggles with. So he gathers up the courage to ask Fluttershy for help. But despite what Fluttershy thinks, his intentions have nothing to do with his grades.
And that tiny failure in communication turns into a massive embarrassment.

So, I read the story, and it's pretty good. I think the characterizations for Fluttershy, and Rainbow Dash are pretty good. And, I especially appreciated the ending of the story (the moral is a good one). But, there are a couple of details in the story that I thought were a bit odd (Please forgive me if the story says the answer, and I missed it...)
First off, I'm curious why they gave a student a key to one of the class rooms. I would think that would pose a security risk to the school (or at very least a prank hazard... E.G. I would think the Administration would be afraid that a student with a key could lock other students in class rooms as a prank).
Secondly, I'm surprised Rainbow Dash wasn't there with Fluttershy (or watching from the doorway, at the very least). She's pulling a prank, but she isn't there to watch it. Also, I would think she'd want to keep an eye on Fluttershy as well (just to make sure she's safe, and comfortable).
Once again, please forgive me if the story covers this, and I missed it. But:
I would think Fluttershy would be a bit nervous. She's locked alone in a room with another student, and he's acting very oddly, and saying weird things.
How well do they know each other? I know they attend the same class, and she knows his grades, but how well does she know him personally? Are they close friends, so she knows she can trust him?

In some schools you can get the keys yourself. In my high-school, you could. There were no problems with it actually.
I was trying to put down hints that Fluttershy herself was kind of into the dude, she was happy to help him in private. It's another thing, that her feelings were a bit more innocent. She misjudged him.
Besides, the dude wasn't really going to hurt anybody. He's kind of a pushover himself and they all know that. He has never said anything weird before, at least not to Fluttershy.

Edit: also Rainbow wasn't trying to prank the dude. She was trying to help him. She just didn't expect him to go with that line. At that point she knew he was going to mess up.
