Trust me, there are a lot of Doctor Who fans on this site, so someone, if not me, would have noticed it sooner or later.
Since I've never read Gil's All-Fright Diner, your story reminded me of The Restaurant at the End of the Universe and Nightmare Cafe, an old TV show from the early 1990s starring Robert Englund (Freddy Krueger). Now that I think of it, perhaps Gil's inspired that show...
I liked the concept, even though the story itself could use some editing, and some expansion would serve this one well. One thing I wanted to point out in particular: Fired corn and fried corn are two very different things.
EDIT: Gil's came out in 2005, so nix the NC reference.
