I liked it. It wouldn't be much of a stretch to think Dust was related to someone in the Bolts hence her thinking she was a shoe in given her natural talent.
One question though. I'm no expert in the field of medicine. I get that Lightning Dust is sort of an alter ego but is she taking some form of antidepressant.
7507540 , I think an antidepressant was what I was going for, yeah. But, it may very well be some other aid that Equestria has come up with. I decided not to state that directly in the story, as an open gate to reader interpretation.
