TheFullCrumb

Let's heat this up, because writing always gets me worked up, and in an awesome way!

T

The Zone is friend to none, and enemy to all. To a Bandit, it is the proper way for their lives to gain the power they lacked in their previous lives. To the Military Man, it was something to be controlled, to be feared. To the STALKER, it was home.

But for a single creature from another plane of existence, the Zone is but the greatest threat in the nature of the world.

There will be war, and they will be right in the middle of it.

- DISCLAIMER -
This work of fiction takes place after Twilight becomes a princess, although almost immediately afterwards. It is a crossover set seven years after the events of Call of Pripyat, the third STALKER game. I will use references to every single game, including the Original Adventure arc.
- END OF DISCLAIMER -

Welcome to a crossover I wanted to do, but never had enough ideas for.
Loosely inspired by See the Zone and Survive. Uses original characters and three of the minor characters, as most of the main characters have either moved on or died in the storyline of Secrets of the Zone.

I shall stalk you from the shadows, leaving you messages on grammar.

Grammar for my English, or grammar relating to my Russian words used?

4063806 English, I unfortunately lack the required skills for Russian.

Well, I've never played STALKER to my greatest regret, but this looks interesting. Tell me, is the game anything like Fallout, but set in Russia, or is it completely different?

4067269
Seriously, if you ever get the opportunity to play STALKER, play it. It is survival-horror-shooter-rpg, well, RPG in the fact that you upgrade your equipment in CLEAR SKY and CALL OF PRIPYAT, or pick up better weapons in SHADOW OF CHERNOBYL. I'm using CoP and SoC as my references for this, although I never actually completed SoC, but did a full completion of SoC.

So, in essence, completely different.

Sounds cool. Just ordered Call of Pripyat, so hopefully I should be able to get into it soon.

This reminds me of a story I know, but which one...? :rainbowlaugh:

Good premise. Makes me want to read more.

4067510
Begin with Shadow of Chernobyl, you fool!

4067628
Is that one better? I thought I'd start with Call of Pripyat as it's the prequel isn't it?

4067649
Clear Sky is the prequel, but reveal plots points and spoils the entire Shadow of Chernobyl storyline. Call of Pripyat is the direct sequel to Shadow of Chernobyl.

I know, I was confused too at first.

You can always go to the stalker General thread in /vg/ on 4chan, we always welcome inexperienced rookies! Just make sure to read the pastas and follow the guides before you ask any dumb questions.

4067672
Well, I just ordered Shadows of Chernobyl, so I guess I'll play through that first.

4067698
Shadow of Chernobyl is the best one to start with, as it is the one that started it. Call of Pripyat is set pretty much DIRECTLY after the end of SoC.

4067803
Cool. Glad you told me that, I honestly had no idea otherwise. :pinkiehappy:

will we get a bit more backstory of what caused twilight to end up there in the next chapter?

also welcome back.

6924277 I'm working on story elements. I REALLY wanted to get this chapter out, and Strider was the best way to get everything moving forward the way I wanted to.

7019420 Thanks, man. That actually means a lot for someone like me. Makes me want to continue writing.

please sir, may i have some more?

7319484 Working on it. I'm speaking at BronyCAN this year on Evolution of Character, so preparing for that takes precedence.

yes a story where twilight is a sniper YEEEEEESSSSSS

MUST RESIST URGE TO PLAY MISERY MOD NOW

also how did twi get there and whats with the scar

8008454 Oh, THAT. If I remember correctly, I give little hints to it throughout the story about how she got there.

Also, yeah, I'm always going back into the game to figure out how everything connects. It's a lot of fun to do research that way, and also use the wiki.

Unfortunately, Author's Notes are currently broken for me, so I can't put anything at the beginning or end of the story which gives links to the wiki for new characters or mutants introduced.

Ah, no context in a crossover I'm about to read! Don't you love it!

8103395 I'm guessing you're not familiar with the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games.

Fenrisianbrony- S.T.A.L.K.E.R is completely different from Fallout. First, off it is not post-apocalyptic it takes place in a fictitious version of the area of what's called the zone of containment and alienation around the area around and the city of Chernobyl itself in the Ukraine.

Wherein 1986 the nuclear power plant went critical and burst its coolings and steam generator chambers in the number four reactor. It littered the area for kilometers around the city with nuclear dust making it uninhabitable for generations to come. In this reality, the stalker factions that live there fighting for their own piece of what could be illegal off the grid living; as the territories, they have carved out of the zone against Ukrainian state orders that the zone is off limits to all but military and scientists with government clearance similar to reality. In real life though there no mutants but the threat posed by arms dealing trespassers is all not un-similar to the bandit faction and yes in both the real and the fictional worlds the Ukraine troops have authorisation to shoot or detain anyone found in the zone as a terrorist level threat.

well, technically the zones like a mini apocalypse, contained in a small area. and i think i read somewhere (i cant remember where, or even if it was the game or the film) that it's mentioned that it's also expanding and other zones are popping up around the world, so....maybe apocalypse?
4067269
for a better representation of that, you'd want to try the metro series (metro 2033, metro last light, and the upcoming metro exodus). they're sort of a combination of fallout and elements of the STALKER series, set in post war moscow

makes me wonder where the others went. they in the zone? back in equestria? or are they scattered into other universes as well?

whats not to like about hatchet? he's the only merc in the whole series who can actually become friends with you
