Always on an ego trip, but feeling like I should have saved what I already typed before.

i don't want to read this sorry :rainbowhuh:

Oh shit I read this on EQD! Very deep :pinkiehappy:

Oh hey, I remember this one! Nice to see it here.

Chapter 1: Ohhhh shit.
Chapter 2: Nooooo!!
Chapter 3: Rainbow won.

I'm going to track this and read it later, but I'll leave a comment to at least say that the description has me interested, it sounds psychological.

Thanks for the compliments! You guys are the awesome ones. I won't write a sequel to this, but might feature it further. I wrote the ending to suggest which world is real, but you decide for yourself since I won't tell exactly what it means.

Alright, here's my review:

What I liked: Not sure if it was intentional, but I noticed the narrative becomes much more adult and chaotic when we see the human Rainbow Dash. I felt it really helped in separating the worlds.

The idea of changing her name repeatedly really helped then blur that line between reality and fantasy.

Most of this is very well written and descriptive enough to where we have a steady idea of what's happening.

What I did not like: Some parts are a little awkward to read, possibly from grammatical mistakes, or just some awkward dialogue. Nothing major, but it stopped the flow a few times.

The other major issue I had, ironically: the pony parts are rather boring. I found myself more interested in the human aspect than the pony one because I felt the human world had a lot more thought put into it. There's no real major events going on in the pony world, so I'm inclined to care a lot less. Perhaps intentional, however it really just made me kind of groan as I forced myself to read through them.

All and all I really enjoyed this story, and I am going to put it up for consideration to be added to High Quality Fictions

Aha, Rainbow WON! SCREW YOU DOCTOR

The narrative and naming, at least, I can take intentional credit for; I pay closer attention to my diction than other elements of writing. Ponyville was meant to add perspective rather than content, though, and I admit I didn't give it as much care. I wrote it as amusingly as I could to make up for its lesser importance, which I know doesn't mean it is amusing. Thanks for getting specific.

340993 I like to target specifics when I'm critiquing a story as I feel it actually gives the author something to go on rather than just saying "I liked the story" or "I didn't like the story."

The Ponyville parts in the final chapter feel the most natural really. I think it's because the struggle was increased by then. That's really what this story is about: struggle. It's a fight with the inner self to either live in reality, or become one with an escapist fantasy.

As far as the ending goes, I see it as Dash gains a personal victory, though I am under the belief that the human world was the real one. Dash chooses the other world because she decides in the end that blissful madness is better than painful reality.

I also like how the human Dash and the pony Dash are written almost like two different characters. One is playful, quick to apologize and caring, while the other is vulgar, hateful, and depressive. The change in the dialogue when we are exposed to the human Dash is what's the most interesting.

I'll let you know if your story makes the cut in the group.

This story scared me. And when Ponyswamp gets scared Fluttershy gets upset.:fluttershysad: And when Fluttershy gets upset... PEOPLE CRY!

As I stated here:

Personally, I liked it. There are oh-so-many stories that touch the subject of mental pathologies. My nitpicky medical knowledge made it a little hard for me to relate with RD, but I guess that, to the layman's eyes, it wouldn't make a difference.

The writing itself was really enjoyable, and the flow was good; just stopped a moment two or three times through all the three chapters.

Characterization weirded me out a little bit. But all that is explained when RD awakes, giving it a 'purpose'.

It had the premise to be a great story; unfortunately it turned out only good because it was pretty straightforward. We accepted what the narrator told us and just followed his lead.
The text had no 'obstacles', for us to think through. My mind didn't wonder after reading it.

Okay, the name-changing thing is a strong argument against this point, but to me, more subtle hints on Ponyville Is Real X Humanville Is Real should've been given.

I thought it would follow a 12 Monkeys kind of plot. But this is just... a smooth trail on a bizarre setting, if you may.

I vote that, yes. This fanfic should be achieved.

Heh, it's not really my first piece of fanfiction. I've been writing since I was about eight. It is one of the few I've completed, and my first venture into FiM. I'm really excited you went into that kind of depth discussing it, though; you've got me thinking on that note of subtle narrative questions for readers, and it's difficult to get advice like that.

Then why bother commenting?

I don't know why this hasn't gotten more attention. I really like it, much more than that Celestia story that's been featured recently.

I'm not sure how I feel right now, so I'll just say well done sir.

Whoa. Dude. Yeah.

May I have more, sir?

where have you been all my life

I am sorry to see that this is labeled as complete. I would like to see more, I guess that I will have to look at some of your other works!

Heartbreaking to not have an identity; I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemy.

While it's tempting to write a sequel since so many people want more, I just feel like one is unwarranted. Delving into Rainbow's non-pony world, which is all that's really left to explore, distracts from the emotional point of the story. I may think I'm a damn clever writer (and I do, even when I'm not), but I don't know what else I could really draw out of this.

This story was certainly interesting.

I think leaving the ending as it is, is a good call. As for the concept it is f@cking terrifying. This is one of my greatest fears... Shutter Island certainly proved that.
Anyway great story! Now I'm gonna go talk to all my friends and family and disregard the idea that everything is fake.

Amazing how you can find the same stories being written now and yet sometimes they feel like imitations of the classics. If this had been posted now it would have done far better than it has... although a 50/0 rating is pretty damn good.

Hoooooooooooly crap! Oh my goodness gracious thank goodness I finally found this!! I read this story like two years ago a little after getting into the fandom and it was my favorite fic at the time but a little after I forgot the name of it and have been wracking my brain over and over trying to think of what this fic was called T-T Now I finally just stumbled upon it again at random. All I could remember about it was that the title rhymed... man that was super frustrating. Anyway, this was a pretty good fic and I'm probably gonna read it over again soon.

Zir

OOOOOHHHH MY FUUUUUUUCK! this is fucking with me. really good story. still fucking with me though.

I remember when I read this way back in the day... good times...

So Rainbow is some sort of otherkin! Who can't be fixed, oh FUCK!

I liked this. It kept getting stranger and stranger as time went on. One thing was for sure, her 'reality' kept changing.

Her name kept changing from Delia to Dana to

I’m glad to hear that you still recognize it for what it is, Regenbogen.

Regenbogen.

And at the end? With the satyr people? Kind of makes you wonder if that reality's the fake one and if it is then why does it even exist for her? Why does she have memory problems to begin with? And if that is her reality then...what?

Liked it.

This was interesting... not sure what I was supposed to get from it though... Both realities seemed pretty fake to me. There were inconsistencies in both, leading me to believe that both were false. Is that what this is? Trying to show that the entire thing is fake? Because that would be super deep, seeing as both realities are proven false by the existence of the reader and the writer... I am so confused it's 4 am I think I have homework due soon

Also what the hell is a Regenbogen
