Believe me, it'd be awesome if this could be a fangame. Heck, I'm a bit of an amateur programmer, I half-considered it. But as you can tell by just many of the pony game projects around, it takes a lot of work to make a game, and since I lack much skill in sprite creation and music composition, attempting to turn this into a game by myself would just result in another never-to-be-done project.

I have to admit. I was a bit skeptical at first to read this fic, didn't think someone could really pull off successfully a crossover like this.

I've actually been imagining things like this while listening to the Ghost Trick OST myself on my 3DS during my bus rides to and from school. An animation, I mean. Mostly the series capoff and credits while listening to the credits music. It'd definitely be more complicated than Turnabout Storm, that's for sure, given all the animation required. I showed similar misgivings about a fangame earlier, as you might have seen.
It's "YOU BETTER NOT LET US DOWN," incidentally, but you're point is well-made. I have no intention of disappointing my fans, which is why Chapter 2 is taking so long. Hopefully the winter break (finals are next week) will give me the time to finish it. The 4 Minutes here is a little hard to figure out, given the seeming general lack of references for its interior (doesn't even have its own MLP:FiM Wikia article, unlike the Golden Oaks), and a little twist in it actually compounded the work a little. You'll see what that means when it comes out~

I hear ya, but I guess it could be a perk as well. You can unleash your imagination to create a background in the 4 Minutes scenes and pretty much on every aspect of the fic. Be it indoors or outdoors, you don't have to follow a specific canon scenario from the show. It wouldn't hurt to re-watch some of the episodes to have some references though.

The composer for Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was Masakazu Sugimori, who also composed music for the Ace Attorney series. In both series' soundtracks, all the major characters and some of the minor ones have their own associated music tracks that play to accompany their on-screen actions. They often follow a specific naming pattern, namely "<character name> ~ <descriptive phrase>". Examples include "Lynne ~ A Targeted Redhead" and "Detective Gumshoe ~ I Can Do It When It Counts, Pal!" You can find more examples by searching for the games' soundtracks.
It should be no spoiler that I intend for all the Mane 6 to show up in this story at some point or another. So I wonder what their songs would be called...?
And that's the game. Come up with names for theme songs for the Mane 6. Or any other pony, while you're at it, but the Mane 6 are priority here. Do as many or as few as you wish. There's no prize; it's just for fun. But I am interested in seeing what you guys can come up with. You don't have to come up with an actual song, just the title.

So, the second (and third) people Sissel saves tonight are Fluttershy and Angel! And what makes it worse is that Sissel needed two attempts to save Fluttershy... it was hard to read a second time. And unlike the original Ghost Trick, where almost nobody seems to give much of a dang about dying (Lynne practically laughing off her deaths around Death 3, Jowd practically having a devil-may-care attitude about his first death, and Missile's only concern being Lynne and Kamila), these guys take it A) very seriously and B) extremely traumatically (similarly to how Kamila did, and how Sissel thought it would be for Lynne back when she was younger). In short, you show how no matter how cheap death is for Sissel since he can rewind time, the reminder of them actually DYING is pretty much scarring for someone like Fluttershy (and perhaps the others).
At the very least, though, I'm assuming that we just found out whose responsible. Putting together the clues so far (the fact that the assassins are using wood from a place no sane pony would dare get wood from, the murder weapons for both of these hits are explosive crystals, a 'His Majesty', and the fact that these assassins I'm assuming to be Earth Ponies with grey coats), I'm going to go out on a limb here, and say the villain of this story:
King Sombra. He came back from the freaking dead, and has gone out of the way to kill the Mane Six so when he makes his real appearance, nopony could stop him. It's not Chrysalis, because you established the villain is female, and Discord is out, because if he was going to kill the Mane Six, he wouldn't hire hitmen to do it, since he probably is more powerful than Ghost Yomiel (and Yomiel can manipulate people into doing country shaking events) and could easily make the Mane Six's deaths look like accidents. And unless you're introducing an OC villain King, I'm not seeing others who could be considered "His Majesty".
Well, if you're asking for song names for each of the Mane Six (I'm assuming you're going to kill all six of them at least once tonight, because you're asking for themes for all of them), well, here you go.
Twilight: "The Purple Equine Princess"
Fluttershy: "A Timid Caretaker"
Pinkie Pie: "Missile's Pony Counterpart?"
Rarity: "The Type of Pony Everypony Should Know"
Rainbow: "The Sonic Rainboom Pegasus"

I tend to prefer longer chapters because I feel the storyline is way more developed and less vague, so feel free to take your time when writing.
I can't imagine the awkwardness Sissel must have felt when he was reassuring Fluttershy after going in shock, 'cause the victims in the game were all like 'Lol I got killed, but Sissel will save me so screw it'. It truly was a change of scenario for him.
I feel bad for Fluttershy, she will remember seeing her's and Angel's calcined corpses in her new life... such a sad fate.
Oh by the way, let me ask you this incredibly-super-important question... Is Missile going to make a badass appearance later on in the story?!

I gotta say, I'm really impressed by how true to the style of the game this story is. Reading through a chapter of this reads almost exactly the way the game does.
I am going to guess that Sissel will eventually hitch a ride on spike's dragonfire letters. Aside from that, another guess is that Sweetie Belle is being held captive and Rarity has to fulfill the order...which of course is setting up anti-ghost garments for the bad guys, along with a trap to get rid of Rarity.
