Years after the reformation of the changelings, Twilight and the others visit the crystal empire, to find themselves in over their head yet again after Flurry heart is kidnapped by an unknown changeling who somewhat resembles the newly-reformed Thorax.

It started as an innocent trip to visit a friend in Canterlot. It has led to Queen Twilight's death.

As Aurora Oracle claims Equestria as hers for the first time in centuries, the world starts to unravel. Changes in leadership, uncertainty about the usurper's cause, and history long since blotted from books returning into the public eye. All of it has made it clear that someway, somehow, a war will ignite, but how soon it will remains uncertain to those outside of Equestria. While some do their utmost to prevent complete disaster, others prepare for the inevitable.

After all, war is coming to Equestria. It is simply a matter of who will ignite the flame.

This is a direct sequel to Fears of Bygone Eras. It is preferred to read it before reading Vessel.

Strange rumors and sightings of a mysterious creature spread across the Badlands, but after the invasion made by Storm King, the rumor died down. However, a certain changeling is yet to give up hope.

Ocellus knew very well about her limitations but still could not stop her curiosity, especially when she was sure that this creature wasn't a 'local'. She's the one who started the whole rumor, and not many creatures believed her due to the possible invasion of the Changeling Kingdom, Thorax and the others were too busy preparing for their defense. After several weeks of investigation, the timid changeling finally decided to step out of her comfort zone and confront this new species of rare animal herself.

Little does Ocellus know she's not the only one searching for this creature.

Astro is a normal Stickman in a perfect town (a bit to perfect if you ask me.) then, one day, without warning, a dragon invaded Astro and his cousin Yankee’s lives. Then Astro invaded the lives of the Mane 6. With a dragon on the loose in Equestria, a lost cousin through out dimensions unknown, possibly more monsters out there, and only 1 dragon friend to fight back, how are the Mane 6 supposed to survive?

A year after the Friendship Festival and, quite recently, after a Queen Chrysalis attack, Tempest Shadow surprises Twilight with her return to Equestria. Her return sparks outrage from everyone in Equestria, especially the families she affected most. They give Twilight an ultimatum: three days to sentence her to life in prison or letting them drive her out for good.
Their newfound love for each other adds more pressure on Twilight's already exhausted wings. She could follow her heart's desire and keep Tempest out, or succumb to their demands and lock her crush away forever. Tempest is dealing with her own battles: trying to find her lost parents, old friends reunifications, and trying to prove to herself and all of Equestria that she really has changed.
Beyond all of this, in the farthest reaches of the world, lies a dark figure waiting for their time to strike....
