Late at night, when Wallflower is all alone with herself, the bad thoughts in the corners of her mind get harder to ignore.

Disaster lesbian Sunset Shimmer tries to get through her days.

Warnings: discussed parental abuse and implied suicidal ideation. Neither of these are shown in-scene, but I feel it's enough to warrant the tag.

This story is a sequel to Rose Brass

A Twin Canterlots story—second in the Brass Ring series

Warning tag refers to an attempt described in general terms.

Rose Brass, retired army captain, has found a second career as a youth social worker. She gets the hard cases, in both senses of the word. She has a tough attitude, experience, and a security clearance. Naturally she’s the perfect choice to deal with three broken teenage girls who used to be powerful magical creatures from another dimension.

KwirkyJ wrote a couple of lovely little vignettes inspired by this story.

Begins about eight months after “Through the Mirror” and two months after “Rainbow Rocks”—the middle of season five.

Miserably, Wallflower sighed. She was beyond the point of feeling sorry for herself. She just wished someone would.

Sunny would.

Yes, Sunset would. Wallflower knew that, but did it matter? Sunset didn’t even know of her existence until Wallflower tried to erase hers. Would it matter once Wallflower was gone? Everything would just go back to normal, and Sunset could go back to her better friends as if nothing had ever happened.

Because that’s all Wallflower was. Nothing.

CONTENT WARNING: This fic talks heavily about suicide. Please seek help if you’re thinking of harming yourself. You are loved, you matter.

Twilight Sparkle is fine. She would never intentionally hurt herself. They're just morbid thoughts. Nothing to worry about. She's not suicidal, or even depressed! But Wallflower might be. Should she say something? Is it any of her business?

And what is it about the scars on Wallflower's arms that are so...fascinating?

Years of ostracisation, abuse and torment have taken its toll on Midoriya Izuku, seen as a freak of nature for not having a quirk in his world where superpowers are the norm. When his idol, the Symbol of Peace and Japan's number one hero, All Might, destroys his dream of following in his footsteps, it proves too much.

Broken and seemingly beyond repair, Midoriya follows his tormentor's advice, and throws himself off the roof where All Might foolishly left him, embracing death and the hope of a better second life.

That would have been the end, if it wasn't for cosmic forces intervening.

Now thrown into a world where magic is the norm and talking ponies are the main species alongside mythical creatures thought to only exist in fantasy novels, a new life begins for Midoriya. (Though he would appreciate it if everypony would stop bowing to him wherever he went. He might have a horn and wings, but that doesn't make him royalty, for Celestia's sake!)

Starting afresh might be tough, especially without his hands, but with new friends by his side, Midoriya is willing to take up the challenge. Plus, magic and flying do seem like fun activities anyway, as well as apple-harvesting, and ogling a strong, attractive stallion of few words on the farm.

This is his story, of a new beginning, and how he became the greatest hero Japan had ever seen through the power of friendship and love.

Starlight loses her sight in a near deadly accident. Her life changes significantly.

To Casketbase77, who proofread, Nitro Indigo, who has waited quite a long time for this to finally be finished, Supermarine Spitfire, who I'm relatively certain also wanted to see this when it was done although I am unsure, and Amit, whose stories I heavily based the structure and cover image of this one off of. We miss you, dude. You're quite possibly the best etymologist I've ever met.

God damn, I write too many sad stories. My next one will be funnier, I promise.

A (belatedly informed) entry into the My Little Pony Renaissance Contest. I promise it was! I just forgot to enter it!

Celestia had always been hardworking, she had always loved her job. She loved being a princess and everything about it- the power, the responsibility even. And most importantly, she loved that everyone adored her.

Celestia loved her sister. But when a pony loves two things, she’s bound to protect one over the other. And so, she did. Her sister wasn’t “banished to the moon”, contrary to common belief; she was dead.

Celestia believed she was a horrible sister, a awful person.

And of course, Luna comes back to tell her that.
