Crystal Ponies aren't built to be Defense Attorneys. They are literally too transparent. Their emotions affect their physical appearance. That, Alexandrite tells herself, is why she consistently refuses every client her bosses try to offer her. Unfortunately, cases of theft and vandalism still have to be defended, so when Alexandrite once again says no, Escutcheon Herald takes on the case, and he brings her as his co-counsel so that she might learn a thing or two.

This is a short, bonus prequel to the story of Alexandrite: Ace Attorney (Coming Soon!). While not necessary to understand the full story, it should serve as a good base to launch yourself into the world and connect, just a little bit, with the characters and events. Keep an eye out here, because more fics with Alexandrite are on their way!

The news had shocked the entire nation. Lazuli is just another slave, one of many in the Crystal Empire. Her king keeps her fellow ponies safe from a dangerous foe, or so it seems. Yet, her treasonous thoughts refuse to lie, and there's only one other she can turn to for one last talk.

When his wife took their daughter to visit her parents, Shining Armor assumed that things would be quiet. Minor budget meetings aside he figured he could eat his cereal in peace for once.

That all changed when the guard burst through his doorway due to an incident that occurred in the main hall. In spite of their protests the prince decides to find out just what is going on. However, finding out just what happened and why may lead to more than he bargained for.

Equestria may be the homeland of ponies, but it is not where they came from. Ponies came from a world so distant and far-gone that none now live who remember it. But this is not the story of that place.

Ponies move from world to world, though they spend so much time on each world that nopony ever knows they are not the first ponies to leave their world. And leave they do, for the ones who made them have a plan for the ponies, and they often test to see if the ponies have fulfilled the plan.

The test is a purple pony princess, a change nopony ever expects and, thus far, nopony ever accepts. This is the story of what happens when the Purple Pony Princess Test is given, and fails.

In his search for a heir he used one of his treasures a mirror which lead into another dimension. In this dimension there are no Ponies but bipedal beings called humans. They have great potential for hatred and malevolence, in the time as he watched them there where so many wars and bloodsheds. One night in this dimension he took an infant a girl with him home. The child didn’t changed the form like him it stayed as a human. He would raise this girl shape her, teach her make her his heir and he name her Isis Calcite.

In its earliest years, the Crystal Empire was no stranger to threats. Chief among these was the umbrum, a race of ancient shadow-beasts that stalked the arctic wastes. Seemingly born of pure malice, they took great pleasure in tormenting the crystal ponies—destroying their homes and breaking their spirits for fun. And as the Empire grew in both size and prominence, these attacks only became more abundant.

Princess Amore did everything in her power to keep the umbrum at bay. And by using her magic in combination with the Crystal Heart, she was largely successful. But against such overwhelming and unrelenting darkness, even she was pushed to her limits. And the umbrum were growing more cunning by the day. Eventually, something had to give.

Now faced with the darkest days the Crystal Empire has yet seen, Princess Amore will be put to the ultimate test. Against a hatred as old as the wind, can the love of a single pony really make a difference?
