Chapter seventeen
A day after my sister’s duel, I congratulated her, and was back at the Slifer Red Dorm - also after me and Syrus spied on our siblings hanging out together. Jaden and Hassleberry were having a duel while Alexis, Syrus, Alexis’ brother Atticus, Jesse, and Bastion were eating dinner as we watched the two friends duel. Soon, there was a knock at the door. When the door opened, it revealed to be cute little Blair wearing her Slifer Red blazer.
“Hey guys,” she greeted to us even though I only knew her for like a few weeks, I felt a strange feeling in my as we turned to look at her. When I looked straight at her, I felt my heart start to melt from a soft solid to a gooey liquid.
“Oh, hey Blair,” Alexis greeted to the raven haired Slifer Red. To be honest I did not care if she has a crush on Jaden, to hear that name was like music to my ears; I was just in love with her.
“Oh hey, Chris,” Blair greeted to me with a sweet smile
‘Chris, she is talking to you,” Twilight said to me as I snapped from my trance on her.
“Oh, um…*Ahem* Hey Blair,” I said to her with a simple smile - although I was blushing. We had talked on a number of occasions they were fine, that is until a night that she was struggling with a duel against a Obelisk Blue, that my love for Blair was sealed. To be honest, I was just trying to be a gentleman to the lovely young lady, so I don’t know what drawn me to her. I just… I just did.
‘Chris is in love!’ Rainbow Dash said making fun of me. I raised my hand, turning it into a fist. I punched the rainbow-maned duel spirit causing him to disappear in a puff of smoke.
“Excuse me for that my dear Blair,” I said to her calming down a bit, “Duel Spirits can be an annoyance as well as being help.”
“I can understand that with Jaden and Chazz,” Blair said understanding what my pain can sometimes be.
The next day, it was as usual - well at least at the start of the morning - and after a long and boring class, it was time for some dueling. I grabbed my duel disk and went out to do some dueling when I came across Blair. “I was wondering when you would get here my dear,” she said to me, oddly enough with an accent from Transilvania, her hair covering her eyes. She turned to face me revealing her brown eyes had become crimson red and her smile revealed fangs.
“B-Blair, what’s with the accent?” I asked her nervously.
“I have changed for you my dear Christopher,” she replied to my question getting closer to me making me feel rather uncomfortable, “Come… Join me and we can be immortal together.”
“Immortal, what the hell are you talking about?!” Bringing her face closer to mine, those fangs; inching closer to me - my neck specifically - and I could smell the stench of blood in her mouth. Wait a minute, hold the phone. Blood in her mouth, has she become a Vampire?
“Blair…” I began with wide eyes, “Have you become… A Vampire?”
She looked at me, eventually giving me a grin. “So, you figured it out, my love.” Putting a hand on my face, caressing it with her cold, pale hand.
“How did this happen to you?” I asked her.
Flashback…
Blair’s POV
Last night, I was heading back to the Slifer Red Dorm after a quick duel. It was dark and all that I could see was the light of the stars as well as the moon. All of sudden a black shadow began to form right in front of me and that shadow became a body. It was a man that was cloaked in black with a set of blood-stained Wallachian armor. His hair; black as the shadows with white lining and eyes that were red as blood.
“W-who are you?”I asked him. His only reply was activated his duel disk. When that happened, my fate was sealed. All I remember after that was screaming and becoming this. He explained to me that you and I could be together as long as we serve him.
Back in the present…
Chris’ POV
“Wait what?!” I yelled pushing her away, “Blair, your mind has been taken over!”
She took two steps back before saying to me, “If you won’t join us willingly, then I will have to force you to join… In a duel.” Her blood red eyes showed signs that she was serious.
“Then let’s duel!” I yelled with doubt in my voice. She led me to a darkened dueling arena.
“Duel!” we both yelled activating our duel disks. And speaking of duel disks, she got a new duel disk. Her duel disk was ebony black with the monster with the monster card area being the shape of a bat’s wing and the deck area was like the head of a bat. It even had a vampire bat’s fangs. To be fair, that’s a pretty badass duel disk design.
We drew our five cards and I get an interesting hand. In my hand was the Cloudsdale field spell, Rumble, Sunset Shimmer, Destiny of Magic Trap card, and the Lunar Armor and Sword spell card. “I hope you’re ready my dear,” she suddenly said drawing a card from her deck, “Because I activate the field spell: Vampiric Seal.” Very soon a seal that I haven’t seen before - although I have heard of the Seal of Orichalcos because of the tales of Yugi Muto - began form around the field.
“W-what the?” I said in shock.
“And next, I summon my Maiden in Love,” she continued as her maiden appeared in defense mode, “And now my field spell activates; by removing her from the game, I can summon the Vampiric Maiden in Love!” Very soon it’s shadow began to consume the young lady, her screams of agony was haunting. When the shadows subsided in her place was a vampiric version of herself. “And her ability activates; you lose five hundred life points once per turn.” Her Vampiric Maiden suddenly disappeared and I had a chill down my spine.
Suddenly, I felt the Vampiric Maiden pierced the skin of my neck with her fangs. I cried out in pain as a unfamiliar sensation ran down my entire body.

“And I’ll end my turn with one face down,” she concluded.
“That attack… What the hell was that?” I said to myself, “It… Drained me somehow.” I pulled a card and it was Lotus.
I placed Sunset’s card into the monster card zone as she appeared on my side of the field. “But I am far from finished,” I said to her, “Sunset, attack with Sunset Fireball!” The yellow Unicorn summoned a fireball with her horn and sent it towards the Vampiric Maiden.

“You seem to forget that my Maiden stays on the field,” she said to me as the smoke cleared to reveal that she was still there.
“I’ll play a face down and end my turn,” I said ending my turn.
“Alright,” she said pulling a card from her deck, “And play Vampiric Love and equip it to my Vampiric Maiden. And she not only gains five hundred extra points, but she also gains a unique ability; when she attacks a monster whos attack points are higher than hers, you take damage equal to the difference between them. Now my Maiden, attack her Sunset Shimmer!” Her Maiden jumped towards Sunset and bites her neck. When that happened the came back.

Meanwhile, Jaden, Alexis, Syrus, and Hassleberry were having a walk through the hall that is closest by the arena I was dueling while talking to each other. “And so my twin sister wanted to join me in the Academy, but she couldn’t because she failed the test,” the pride of the Slifer Reds explained to his friends.
“That’s sad Jaden,” Alexis said to him, “I hope your sister is…”
Then they all suddenly heard my screams of pain. “”W-what was that?” Syrus shouted in horror.
“That sounded like Chris!” Jaden said as they ran to my location. When they made it to the arena I was in they found my older sister. “Sara, did you hear that too?”
“No, but I felt what was happening to my little brother,” Sara replied to them.
“Wait a minute, how are you able to feel what is happening to your brother?” the ice-blue haired Obelisk asked her looking confused.
“Chris and I have a bond so strong that we can feel one another’s pain,” she explained to them, “So when I felt my little brother’s pain, I can rushing to help.”
They turned to look at the door feeling the darkness emanating from within. “Guys, do you feel that?” Jaden asked them.
“Yeah, yeah we do,” the Queen of the Obelisks nodded. My older sister reached out to the door when a seal blocked her from opening it.

“I don’t know what dark powers are at work here, but I can’t let them go unchecked,” I roared pulling Luna from my deck then added Lunar Armor and Sword to that hand, “I sacrifice Sunset to summon Princess Luna to the field and boost her strength with the equip spell Lunar Armor and Sword!” Sunset then disappeared as a full moon appeared above the field. The light created by that moon caused Luna herself to appear on my field wearing her royal battle armor. “Luna, attack her Maiden with Magical Moon Slash!” The moon princess charged towards Blair’s Maiden, raising her sword, and stabbed her in the heart with it.

“Now… Will you stop this so that I can help you?” I demanded to her.
“I can’t do that, I’m afraid,” she laughed pulling a card from her deck, “The only way for this is to end is to defeat me or you lose to me. And I’ll start my turn by playing Mystical Space Typhoon to destroy your face down card.” A gust of wind rushed towards me as my Destiny of Magic was destroyed. “Next, I play my down card called Vampiric Offering.”
I didn’t like the sound of that card one bit as the trap card revealed itself. “By sending two of my cards to the Graveyard, my Maiden can evolve,” she explained to me.
“Evolve?” I inquired, “What are you talking about?”
“You’ll see my dear Chris,” she let loose a smirked, “Vampiric Maiden of Love, I now sacrifice you so that I can summon… Vampiric Maiden of Royalty!” The Vampiric Maiden slowly descends into a portal of eternal darkness and what came out of that darkness made my heart sink.
A young lady with snow white hair, eyes of crimson red. Her fangs were a little longer and were poking out of her mouth. Although when she opened up her cape, I was expecting her to have the traditional royal princess outfit, but instead her outfit was more like an outfit that looks like a mix of the card ‘Vampire Vamp’ and Morrigan from Darkstalker. “And now, her effect activates,” she said as a dark aura began to form around her and and her vampire, “If we each have one monster on both sides of the field, you lose life points equal to both their levels multiplied by two hundred.”
“Then that means…” I gasped with shock.
“You lose eighteen hundred life points!” Very soon her vampire flew towards me with her fangs primed to take my life points. She pinned me to the ground opening her jaw.
“Chris!” Luna shouted in shock. As quick as a jet fighter, Blair’s vampire sank her fangs into my neck. The pain began to worsen even further as if my life energy was being drained out of me.
“And I’ll place one card face down and that will do,” she said placing her card down, “It’s your turn.” Her vampire leapt back to her side of the field as I lay lifeless on the ground. With what I can assume my life energy being drained out of me with every single life point I am close to dying. Oh, I am not dead, not yet anyway. But I can’t give up, not now!

As that was happening, the others were listening to what was going when Sara can feel my pain once again. “My little brother, he is losing!” she cried getting on her knees.
“Can you tell who’s dueling Jaden?” Syrus asked his best friend.
“Chris is dueling…” he said as he was shocked to find out who’s dueling me, “... Blair is dueling him!”
“What?!” my older sister said with wide eyes, “Sweet little Blair is dueling my little brother?”
“But how can we stop them if we can’t inside sarge?” Hassleberry asked him.
“I don’t think that we can,” Jaden replied to him.
“Perhaps I can do something about that.” Very soon Neos appeared beside the Slifer Red. “Jaden, summon me, and I will try to break through this seal,” he explained to him.
“Alright then,” he nodded activating his duel disk placing Neos’ card in the monster card zone, “Go Neos!” He appeared and leapt in the air striking the seal with his full strength. The seal explodes into pieces. “Come on guys!” he yelled as they rushed inside to see Blair standing and me flat on my back.
“Little brother!” Sara cried to the top of her lungs.
“I… I’m okay big sis…” I said trying to get up on my feet, “I’m not dead yet, and I will try to make my last card count!” I pulled a card from my deck, “I play Stained Glass of Destiny, which lets me draw four cards and discard one.” I drew Lord Tirek Levels Four and Seven, Pot of Greed, and Nurse Redheart from my deck and sent Rumble to my Graveyard. “Now I summon Nurse Redheart in defense mode,” I continued as Redheart appeared kneeling down in defense, “And thanks to her special ability, I chose Sunset Shimmer, and I get life points equal to her attack points.”

“Next, I play the magic of Pot of Greed, allowing me to draw two cards,” I went on as I drew Polymerization and double summon, “Next I play the spell Double Summon allowing me to summon Lord Tirek Level Four!” The ground began to split open as flames shot open revealing the old Centaur. “And now I will end my turn.”
“You’re merely delaying the chance to join us my dear,” Blair said drawing a card, “Looks like I can’t do anything for now.”
“Fine,” I said drawing a card, “I activate my Tirek’s effect to sacrifice him to summon Lord Tirek Level Seven!”
Tirek then began to grow stronger when he leveled up, growing muscles and bigger horns. “And next I play Polymerization and fuse both Luna and Level Seven Tirek to make a more powerful creature,” I announced as the dark blue mane Alicorn and the giant Centaur began to fuse together, “Princess of the Night and Lord of Centaurs, merge to form a creature that will shake the stars! I Fusion Summon… Tirek Lord of Centaurs and the Under!” In their place was a more demonic version of Tirek.
“What is that?!” Blair yelled in shock.
“Your defeat!” I replied with an angry roar, “And I activate one of his mighty special abilities!” If I fused Lord Tirek Level Seven to Fusion Summon this, he gains the attack points of the other monster or monsters I used to help Fusion Summon this wicked Centaur.”
“What?!” Blair gasped in horror as a purple aura formed around my new Lord Tirek and his attack points went up.
“Now Tirek Lord of Centaurs and the Under attack her Vampire Maiden of Royalty with Rage of the Lord of Centaurs!”
Tirek charged up an energy ball in between his massive horns as he looked down at the vampire with a rage induced face. “From the Castle and Coffin you came… And from the Castle and Coffin you shall STAY!” he roared. With a slam of his front hooves, he fires his energy ball at Blair’s Vampiric Maiden. Her said Vampiric Maiden screamed as she was incinerated by the blast. The blast was so powerful that it lifted Blair off of her feet landing flat on her back.

Blair: 0
When her life points dropped to zero the seal around us faded away. Feeling exhausted, I also fell on my back blacking out. “Chris!” my older sister cried running to my side.
When they surrounded me, the darkness began to take form of a sentient shadow. “What a shame,” he said looking down at Blair.
“So, you’re the one behind all of this,” Jaden spoke to the shadow.
The said shadow turned to face the Slifer Red. “Yes I am, and this is only the beginning,” he said to him, “You will all be joining us eventually.”
“Dream on pal!” he yelled as the shadow disappeared along with Blair in its grasp, “Hey, come back here with Blair!”
“Chris, please be alright!” my older sister cried tears falling down her face.
