Captain Lightning Dust of the airship The Washout has everything she wants. Everything but a cream-coloured mare who plays the violin like a soul possessed.

Maybe my entry for the crackship contest, I'm still deciding.

In a quiet spaceship making a nondescript voyage, Applejack knows something is wrong.

The computer says everything is fine.

Her crewmates say everything is fine.

Her very eyes say everything is fine.

And yet she just can't let go of the feeling that things are not fine at all.

After the Wonderbolts, after the Washouts, Lightning Dust seeks a new life. With all her worldly possessions in a saddlebag and a hoof full of bits, she hops on the train to anywhere,

At the end of the line, she finds a home, a job, and a wonderful mare.

But life still isn’t without it’s storms.

Written as a birthday gift for the amazing Red Parade as an unofficial prequel to his story never forever.

On an evening in Canterlot, a group of weary ponies gather to discuss their differences and take solace in each other.

Content Warning: this fic explores the idea of suicide and follows characters who have either attempted or were affected by someone who attempted suicide.

It is a terrible thing, to lose the pony you love. Lightning Dust has been alone since Fiddlesticks died, and she can no longer conceive of any other way to be.
