Welcome one and all to Cowwarr, a sleepy little town in south-eastern Australia. Strange things have started happening, but it's all okay, the new school teacher just arrived and soon the new doctor will be getting here. Just don't mind how folks look around here, something odd happened. Something magical.

This story has a lot of backstory and world-building behind it, as well as a huge plot ahead of it. Sit down, strap in, and relax with a beer (or apple juice for the foals), this will be a long ride.

Parents tell their foals that they can be anything that they want.
For me, however, it's a bit more literal.
At least it would be if my parents had said that.
Or if I knew them at all!
So what do you do when you can become anypony?
You become a spy, of course.

Everything was so confusing when I woke up in that forest all alone.

I don’t remember who I used to be, where I come from, or even my real name. I don’t know what happened to me, but I guess I’m gonna have to work with what I’ve got in order to live my life.

But hey, at least I’ve got my friends to help me start anew.

My name is Neon, and this is my life as a bat pony.

Blue Skies is a weather factory operator with a deep love for painting. Sunup Howdy, on the other hoof, is a bat pony doctor that exclusively works nights at the Chestnut Falls General Hospital. While Blue might find the bat stallion annoying, he could put up with him as long as it meant getting to rent a cheap room… at least until his career as a painter had truly taken flight.

After a factory accident, however, Blue Skies finds himself grounded and distraught. And to make matters worse, Sunup has specifically requested to be the doctor assigned to watch over his recovery.

But the bat stallion may have bitten off more than he could chew, as what was supposed to just be a chance to bother his friend quickly turned into something… special.

Commissioned through Discord, it was a pleasure writing for you and I'm glad my work could meet your expectations.

This story is a sequel to Diplomacy by Other Means

Laminia and Pumpernickel are both quite happy with their jobs serving the Princess of the Night in their busy and occasionally dangerous jobs, until an opportunity to bring a new life into the world turns their lives upside-down. It is a long hard road from the Canterlot castle to the maternity room of the hospital, and there is always the fear of their road to parenthood winding up with nothing but an empty crib.

Dedicated to all parents out there who know the agony and tension of the long, slow road to childbirth.

Deep beneath the Lunar Castle are the Central Imperial Archives, a collection of documents unprecedented and unmatched in variety and breadth. These shelves hold the key to understanding the mystical world of the New Lunar Millennium where Nightmare Moon reigns supreme. Your guide through this labyrinth of knowledge is a pegasus dork who struggles to speak coherently around new people. Enjoy!

Takes place in my New Lunar Millennium alternate universe, obviously. No prior knowledge is required to read, especially as this is intended to be an introduction/explanation for the setting.

A lot of this is stuff I've already written to go alongside drawings and such, but the bulk of it (at time of publishing) is original material. Much of the history parts are available without commentary here.

Chapters are generally presented in chronological order, but certain events from different parts of the world occur simultaneously so some overlap and inconsistent chronology is to be expected. OC and artwork attributions included in author's notes where appropriate.

This story is a sequel to The Adventures of Flare Brimstone

This takes place immediately after chapter 11 of The Adventures of Flare Brimstone and serves as the official, direct sequel.

Far beyond the verge of stars and further still, a portal seldom forms agape. A large rock, a meteor, hurls to the world of Equestria, amidst a star shower. The blistering rock crashes on the plains and caught the attention of Princess Celestia and Princess Luna, who investigates the fallen meteor.

What they uncover will shock them, and when they understand what it is and why will astonish the celestial sisters.
