Season 7 Should Be The Last Season · 6:06am Oct 9th, 2016

Pony has had a good run. But it's time to end it.
There's thousands of stories on this site. We've all probably read at least one of them. Hopefully. Reading is fun, after all. But out of all the stories on the site, what is it that you like to read? What are the things that you can't stop reading or adding to your favorites shelf? Is it a character that compels you to devour ponyfic? A ship? An author? A certain genre only?
Hey readers! Got an interesting one for you today. Sort of a call-back, almost, to last week’s post on “pulp” not being a stand-in for “fun.” Once again, brought up by an online discussion I saw in a reading sphere.
So. A thought struck me today when I finally–as the "man-stuck-in-a-barrel" I tend to be–saw that the Gen 5 leaks people occasionally talk about on YouTube seem to indicate that, while the Main 6 cast will be returning, they will be either in many ways altered or changed completely, and that among these are signs that Twilight Sparkle may be getting changed from having been a Unicorn to being an Earth Pony. Now, these are all, of course, simple speculations at this points, as word is that Gen 5
Welcome! Thank you for reading my first blog post. This is the first of a series I call "Did You Know," or DYK. In this DYK post, I will give you some fun facts about "A Haunting in Canterlot." As the story progresses, I will post updated blogs. If I didn't fully explain something, or if there is something I failed to address, please let your questions be heard.
Gran (Jokingly): Dan, cut your hair, you scruffy cunt.
Me: No.
Dad: Why don't you go to the dole office and get yourself a job.
Me: No. I'm in college, so there isn't really any point. Besides, I make more than you think I do on the side.
Cheryl (Step-mother / Cruella Deville): You're a retard and I've been here more than your mother has.
Dear Bronies and Pegasisters,
For those who don't know, I currently have 99 stories that I have posted. This alone is quite a milestone where the years of experimentation, testing other genres, and picking up both requests and co-authoring stories have come. More so is knowing how accepting and even surprising this audience really is, willing to accept stuff that I normally wouldn't think you would.
While I have been interested in Mlp for a few years now I have only, up until recently, been a fan of fanfics or fan art and haven’t actually watched or read much of the official material. I find it a little bit sad and worrying that I didn’t decide to become involved in the fandom until after the series ended since it could mean that I would be too late. Thankfully those worries have been quickly disproven.
Today, I’d like to discuss a cliché that is very common in children’s media, and actually shows up in My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic a few times. The irony is that, even as a child, I recognized and disliked this particular cliché. In particular, I remember it from both Dragonball Z and Digimon Frontier, among others. Captain Planet even built its entire premise around this cliché (well, that and being preachy, but let’s not get sidetracked).
Today's discussion is about a very old cliche. It is so ubiquitous that I'm many of you have encountered it in multiple places before. Just because it is commonplace, however, doesn't mean that we can't examine it and try to do better.
My previous LDC post was about a very omnipresent cliché. Today, I’d like to discuss a similarly common, and no less frustrating trope; the phonetic accent.
What is it? The phonetic accent is when a writer attempts to spell a word how it sounds. There is (usually) no guidelines or reasoning to it, and it’s often far disconnected from normal spelling.
Hey I'll keep it quick. I'm supportive of Donald Trump's presidency, who here supports him? I'd like to know that I'm not alone in this decision.

Things I Have Been Reading: Hear The Baby Laughing by Aragon
Those who have read enough of my fics know that I like Dark fic. I find extrapolating from canon, making it more dramatic and dangerous, to be an interesting challenge.
Yet Dark fic is also one of the most commonly derided sub-genres of fanfic, because so many stories do it so badly. For today’s blog post, I’d like to discuss one of my favorite types of fanfiction: what separates the good from the bad, and how those ideas can be seen in other types of fiction as well.
1965 summarizes modern times. 1965 mind you over fifty years ago summarized 2016 and the entirety of the 21st century.

So, I finally got my ereader back.
Over the years I've gotten into the habit of reading fics on tablet. Then, my friends hooked me up with e-paper ereaders, specifically by getting me a Cybook Muse with Frontlight and I fell love with that thing, chewing through fics on it like crazy.
Hey there.
So. At the end of Season 3 I think Celestia said that all the events of Seasons 1, 2 and 3 took place over the course of a year.
What I'm wondering is how many years have passed since then? (Specifically I'm wondering about how much time has passed between the end of Season 5 and sayyyy episode 11 of Season 8. For reasons.)
