Wow...I'm kind of amazed Winds of Change got this far. Grateful, certainly, but still kind of surprised, too. This whole thing started out as an idea I ran with after a near decade long hiatus from fanfiction and finally ended with my first ever complete multi-chapter story. So...four months after the fact, where do things stand?

Well, I've had a sequel in the works for quite a while now. Things have been going at a slow, steady pace through the pre-planning phase and I've been taking pains to make sure that everything is written up in an outline before I start actually writing out the story this time.  That outline is almost done and sitting at about forty pages right now and spans a potential 12 chapter story that will be a direct sequel to Winds of Change.

In the meantime though, Winds of Change itself is undergoing a pretty massive editing spree. None of the core content is being changed so you're certainly not required to re-read or anything, but thanks to the help of another of my editors, everything is more grammatically sound and structured. You can track the editing progress on the story page as each chapter is complete.

So when are you going to start seeing this new story?

Well I can't give you an exact date. In addition to having a full time job now, I fully intend to have this story go through the wringer before I actually release it. That means having each chapter run the editing circuit and possibly even having the whole story completed, just to encourage myself to keep on writing it. Rest assured that the sequel is coming though. If at any point I decide not to go through with it, I'll definitely post the outline somewhere as compensation.

In the here and now though, I'm incredibly pleased that I've broken that invisible 1000 barrier and grateful for all of the support this story has been given, and I'm going to make damn sure that the sequel can deliver on the goodwill of the first.

Take as much time as you need. We suffer a severe lack of CryLight fics as it is now, so I'd rather have a fic released a tad later, and released as a whole, rather than having 14 chapters in a span of a week, and then having the author burn out and never finish it.

Waiting not so patiently for a sequel!

3) I will not provide spoilers, future information, or answer questions that could possibly reveal later parts of the story. You can expect any such questions to be responded to with something along the lines of, "Can neither confirm nor deny."

You know, now I just want to read all your stories and ask that kind of question at every opportunity. The "can neither confirm nor deny" answer still gives a minimum amount of information that can be used to piece together the answer, and I love puzzles.
