Okay, I know this will shock everyone because it almost never happens, but I think I made a mistake. 
Looking over everything I have written and laid out for Exiles, I took the “Dark” tag off. Granted, there will be dark moments here and there, but that really isn’t what the story is about.
Which in and of itself is no big deal, but I hate to think I might have turned off prospective readers unnecessarily.
It's written, just waiting on a fella to get back to me with his thoughts on it. Tonight. I promise. Also, you get to see Twilight from someone elses perspective for once. That's why it took so long, actually.

There is no landmass covered in ice at the north pole. There is just ocean with drifting ice pieces on the surface. It has been this way since its discovery in the early 1500s.
People on a mass scale, however, seem to remember the north pole being a solid landmass with ice on top (similar to Antarctica). Some even seem to recall being taught this as they were going through school.
