All great story-tellers were struggling novices in the beginning, and for one pegasus stallion, he is no exception. Aspiring to become a weaver of tales himself, he struggles to think up and write his first story. Then one night, he steps out onto the balcony of his home, and gazes upon a wonderful sight which he has spent the past year observing, and as he watches, he slowly discovers inspiration for his story.

A.K. Yearling's mail mostly consists of the usual fan correspondence. However just before the Friendship Summit in Griffonstone and the Daring Do Convention, the Griffon Ambassador writes to demand the return of the looted Griffon's Goblet. This is followed by a variety of letters from Griffonstone and elsewhere.

One week after his return, Opacare Prose must delve into the streets of Manehattan to stop the corruption that has been brewing within its steel skyscrapers. It seems like an easy job; stop Mayor Grifford Finch, reveal his corrupted ways, and help Manehattan return to its former glory.

But all is not as it seems. Behind Prose's one-stallion war against his former friend, is a shadow of an organization bent on one thing, and one thing only: the complete annihilation of the author and the mayor. As the two ex-friends exchange words and blows, culminating in an explosive confrontation, that organization from behind the scenes makes it move gradually, determined to take Manehattan over without either noticing.

If Opacare Prose has any hope of saving his city, then he must accept the assistance of the mares from Ponyville, as well as forge unlikely alliances with any pony willing to side with him. His goal of stopping Grifford Finch will eventually overlap to other goals, ones that, he will discover, are far more important.

He can't save everything, though... as his war continues, casualties will rise, and somepony important to him could be forever lost...

So when he mysteriously vanishes off the face of Equestria with no warning, it comes as a shock for the nation. His disappearance sparks an uproar of panic and confusion. Ponies and cities alike are put on the watch, looking for him endlessly...

As this is going on, an enigmatic, new pony suddenly arrives in Ponyville. His clothing and belongings look like they've been in several fights, and he looks ready to pass out. However, when ponies question where he came from, he refuses to answer. It seems he has a secret, a dark one, eliciting suspicion against him. He secludes himself at the edge of town, seemingly hiding away from civilization...

The Cutie Mark Crusaders are intrigued, and set off to somehow break through that stallion's cold exterior. Yet, they will inadvertently embark on their own, grand tale, filled with mystery, intrigue, and a troubled past. Will they manage to make it through and understand just who this mysterious stallion is; and what he is hiding?

Sending things beyond the grasp of their planet has become almost routine. However, with every mission into space, there comes a time when the voyage must end.
