All great story-tellers were struggling novices in the beginning, and for one pegasus stallion, he is no exception. Aspiring to become a weaver of tales himself, he struggles to think up and write his first story. Then one night, he steps out onto the balcony of his home, and gazes upon a wonderful sight which he has spent the past year observing, and as he watches, he slowly discovers inspiration for his story.

I actually prefer OC stories. Gives me a thrill to see new characters and adventures than just the normal 'Twilight did this, learned that spell, and became friends with this stallion and/or that mare'. Those get pretty boring after you see them four or so times.
Unique wrote his own story about him writing a story about him writing a story about him...

4111340 OC stories are good so long as the OC isn't made as a Mary-sue character, or there's just no character development and stuff. A character needs flaws and hindrances in order to evolve into someone stronger and wiser.

Yeah, that is pretty much what I like in an OC story. If it's a Mary Sue I'll comment on it then hope the author doesn't get to whiny about it and perhaps fixes it.
