She has no idea what's happening to her, and she's scared for her life. She tells all of this to Rarity... who promptly faints, but has to help her younger sister. It's her duty as a mare.

Time Turner; he maintains the clocks, fixes watches, and adjusts the hourglasses. He makes sure everything related to keeping time is done correctly.

At the end of each year, however, he goes to the Ponyville center and brings out the most important utensil of the entire time-keeping world— a giant hourglass, one that has enough sand to last the entire year.

Now it's that time of the year again.
