Story number four from the Lunar Tales

Equestria, the land of harmony. But how could such a land exist for a thousand years? The short and sweet of it is: it can’t. The price of peace is often bloodshed and violence.

It is the bat-ponies that pay this price, that keep Equestria peaceful and harmonious. They operate without the knowledge of the other races. With the help of the princesses, they’ve maintained this façade for a thousand years. However, even with their centuries of experience not even the princesses are experts at war. They’re good at it, great even, but it’s not their talent.

When a mare emerges whose special talent is war itself, she is quickly elevated through the ranks to put her talents to use for the good of all of Equestria. But for one to command, they must have the unwavering trust of everyone under them. Can Celestia give her this trust?

And if not, who will pay the price for it?

The Canterlot Wedding was a disaster. The Changeling Queen took the lives of Celestia, Twilight, and the bride and groom. Only Luna remains now to patch up her broken nation, but Chrysalis has approached her with an offer she can't refuse: Become her lover.

Luna, the princess of the night, struggles with loneliness and the weight of her past mistakes. Seeking solace in the stars and the silence of her library, she stumbles upon Twilight Sparkle, a young and curious student of magic and with a passion for astronomy.

This is a what if Nightmare night never happened and Twilight meets Luna in a completely different way.

A soldier is stolen from the year 2012 and dumped into the magical world of a war-torn Equestria, with all its glory, and all its horror. He must prevail against the Changelings and even a few hostile ponies that threaten his life. It's his task to save Celestia from Chrysalias and end the brutal war. But will his task simply end there? Or is there more to his story?

This is the tale of the battle between Princess Celestia, dictator of the Solar Empire, and Princess Luna, leader of the New Lunar Republic.
The story begins about a year after the conflict began, and chronicles both the tales of Princess Luna and her forces, and the story of Pinkemenia Diane Pie and her P.A.R.T.Y. mercenary team.

Is she Nightmare Moon reborn or is she simply a doppelganger with a soul and mind of her own? Can Twilight Sparkle protect Nyx from those who refuse to see past her dragon eyes and black coat?

Or, will Nyx be forced to inherit the sins that may not even be hers and become the greatest evil Equestria has ever known?
