Sweetie Belle doesn't really understand why she decided to spend the day with the young colt. Most ponies saw him as a bit eccentric, but Sweetie sees something far more familiar and comforting in his odd-ball behavior.
Based on the Button's Adventures Pilot, produced by JanAnimations. I'd advise taking five minutes to watch it if you haven't seen it yet.
Now on Equestria Daily!

Twilight is growing older. Shining Armor is rising through the ranks of the guard. Their paths will soon diverge, but Shining Armor cannot bear the idea of her wandering off alone. Thankfully, he has someone just as reliable to take over his job.

This is part of a friendly contest between myself and Draconian Soul. The challenge being to write a Spike/Shining Armor brofic. He also was a major editing force of nature on my story, and his help was very much appreciated.
His story was A Shining Pair.

(Fan Written) Sequel to He'll Never Leave Me
When Pinkie woke up, Gummy was gone. He'd been acting so strange lately- Heck, everybody had been acting strange... And now he's just disappeared without a trace.
Pinkie immediately goes on a mad search to find her lost pet, and in the process, might discover a truth she didn't want to face.
Edited by SkeeterTheLurker, and partially written through a conversation with Twilight Mercer and Creepypasta Pinkamena, two awesome people who gave me that last push needed to write this.
Twilight sends Spike to the Crystal Empire for a few days so she can concentrate on some official business. When Spike arrives, Cadence is too busy to really spend any quality time with the dragon. The only pony that seems to have the time for him is Shining Armor.
To keep Spike occupied, Shining spends the day with him, walking, talking, and just hanging out with him. Even when he does have to work, he takes Spike with him and makes him an honorary Royal Guard for the day.
Let's just hope that Spike won't let it go to his head...
Thanks to Vexy and Bad Seed for their help editing this story, as well as Mr101 and Skeeter for throwing their support on it.
Tommy Wiseau's The Room, with ponies!
Nopony has been acting quite right since King Sombra retook the Crystal Empire. Homeless and disgraced, Shining Armour has taken up residence with Cadance in Applejack's barn, where he makes ends meet by working at the Ponyville bank.
In a world so topsy-turvy, can you really trust anypony?
