Upon being banished to the moon, Nightmare Moon found that she was able to communicate with Discord, also sealed away as a statue.

The two despise one another, but compared to an endless monotony, even two hated foes would rather talk with one another. Over time, Discord and Nightmare Moon begin to fall in love, right up until tragedy strikes.

This story is a sequel to The Calm before the Storms

It's June 9th, the day known as Shield's birthday. And the commissioner celebrates his birthday in the way he always celebrates: With video games and endless streams of mead and beer. But all birthdays are vulnerable to being crashed, even one in a town known for its peace.

The trouble will come in the form of an orc warband led by Cap'n Killteef, an ogre warlord of dubious reputation. He and his band of merry murderers plan on wiping out Ponyville in an attempt to add glory to his name. His motives are meaningless to Shield and company, they've got mead in their bellies and their rage in their blood. They will be more than happy to fight off the horde.

But the fight will not be just against Shield and buddies, since Killteef wants to turn Ponyville into his new base of operations. And he will do so through the use of one of the Ogre's most complex tactics: throwing his inferior orc cousins at the enemy until they stops moving.

Will the commissioners be able to hold back the green tide? Or will the horde inevitably overwhelm Ponyville through sheer numbers?

In an effort to speed things up she accepts training from Shield, who promises to take her on the mission if and only if he's convinced that she will survive. But there's also the fact of having to deal with Shield's other team members, who are arriving at Ponyville in order to celebrate this Commissioner's birthday.

Fortunately for her, Rarity is more than ready to to lend a helping hand. And she'll need it if she wants to convince everyone that her mission to save Spike is important.

This story is a sequel to Requiem For A Soldier

Shield Heart, Commissioner of Ponyville, now finds himself in a battle against his worst foe: Boredom.

He's used to a life full of excitement, danger, trouble and fights. But Ponyville doesn't have any on these problems, which means he'll have to get creative and do something to keep himself busy. Of he's not able, he might go berserk on the whole town!

Twilight, Cadence and the rest of the gals will need to work together if they are to restore this broken man back to what he once was, and certain circumstances will make it near impossible to control the blond soldier!

They will also need to learn of his past through his odd acquaintances he's made and have taken residence in the lovely town. Maybe then they can see just how fractured his mind really is.

Sequel: How to Bore a Commissioner

Previously known as "There Is Always A Solution."

In an alternate Equestria, where technology has progressed faster thanks to magic, Shield Heart is a regular enforcer, tasked with the retrieval of an ancient medallion deep inside Goblin Territory. After things go south he faints near Ponyville, where Fluttershy, Shining Armor and Cadence rush him to a hospital.

Shining Armor and Cadence are surprised that an old friend has come, but they know from experience that where Shield goes, trouble is bound to come. And things don't improve when the commissioner learns that he has been stationed in Ponyville, the peaceful town he really doesn't know much of.

Now, Twilight and company have been tasked with the restoration of Shield Heart's mental health. A task easier said than done.

Cadence and Shining Armor appear in chapter 2

Sweetie Belle burst into the Carousel Boutique in tears because one of her best friends is moving to a foster home in Baltimare. Surely there has to be a pony in Ponyville who can be her foster parent, right?

I'm lucky to have two of my favorite, (and also way underrated authors) on this site pre-reading for me, HMXTaylorLee and DemonBrightSpirit. Their work is seriously excellent and unappreciated so go check them out.

My super awesome cover art was done by hugsforpenguin and commissioned by the aforementioned HMXTaylorLee, so another thanks to him.

This story takes place in an Alternate Universe where Quills and Sofas sells more than two things.
