It has been several months since the disappearance of Twilight Sparkle..

One night, after watching her sister raise the Moon and set the heavens alight, Princess Celestia begins to bed down for the night, only to be interrupted by portal forming in her room. From out of the portal comes none other than Twilight Sparkle, garbed in strange armor.

Princess Celestia, along with Luna, Cadence, and Shining Armor, are overjoyed by the Element of Magic's return, but are justifiably curious as to where she had been and what she had been doing. And so, Twilight begins her tale. A tale of survival against impossible odds. A tale of a people fighting for the most basic right of all sentient beings. The right to exist.

The guest room in our house that's remained empty is finally filled this year. Apparently, there's a new student coming to my high school for a couple semesters. Something of an exchange student, I guess. I've met dozens of exchange students; quite a few come over from Taiwan and China, and even one from Vietnam. Except this guy's from another world. No, literally. He's from an alternate universe.

Oops, did I say "he?" I meant "she." And her name is Rainbow Dash.

AUTHOR'S NOTE

This is an old idea, but it was basically an answer to TotallyNotABrony's challenge to write a fic about RD or another pony coming to your college and hanging out. I tweaked it for my old high school instead, as small high schools have stranger experiences, especially with the drama (By small, I mean a graduating class of thirty-four kids). Forgot to post it here.

The USS Alabaster, the US's first inter-system colony ship, uses a prototype Matter/Antimatter annihilation reactor to power the 4.6 million-ton craft to LV-426, where the four thousand colonists and hundreds of construction workers, miners and engineers, will make a new home for themselves. The sponsor: Weyland Yutani, took only volunteers for the mission, volunteers that did so only because of their patriotism, with over two-thirds of the ship was taken up by cargo and the command module was simply a tug that was welded on with the compatibility to use the new engine. During the flight a conveniently stray asteroid hit the ship, either being exposed to the ravages of the vacuum or killed outright, all but ten survived the impact, this is their story

Tired of doing the same thing every day, Nurse Redheart finally decides to quit her job. However, she is requested to take care of one last patient. Soon, Redheart will learn that a new day isn't always like the last one. Redheart will learn that Tomorrow Never Knows.

After GLaDOS is uploaded into a potato battery, Wheatley humiliates the AI even further by uploading her into a project that was abandoned by Aperture a long time ago. In the blink of an eye, she finds herself in a deformed body of flesh and bone that resembles an equine, and is just as powerless as one too. It comes with all of its needs and bodily functions as well. To make matters worse, she's trapped in a land full of insufferable creatures that just want to make 'friends.' Will GLaDOS' cold, sadistic sense of humor and morals get the better of the ponies? Or will they peel away the once artificial being's metallic shell and find that there's a softer side? Probably not, but it's worth a try.

You're a fast-flying, teenage pegasus colt with dreams of glory! Having just transferred to a new boarding school in Cloudsdale, you're looking forward to meeting new friends, joining the wingball team, and finally hanging out with fellow pegasi. This year's going to be so awesome!

Except you're the only pegasus around without a cutie mark. And everyone already seems to think you're a total loser, before they've even met you. And your only friend can hardly stand up for herself, much less you. And you're convinced a certain rainbow-maned mare is out to ruin your life. Yep, awesome.

This is the story of your high school days at Wingbury Academy.

She was once a great mare, the pride of Equestria's rulers.
The sole wielder of the element of magic...
Now but a shell of her former self after just one tragic night... and the long months that followed.

Because what would it be like to have your closest friend violently taken away from you?

Twilight Sparkle, with the help of her friends, attempts to rebuild her life from the ground up after a full year of dwelling in the past, and trying to find any trace of her former assistant.
Spike's gone, but does Twilight have what it takes to bring herself back from the same void?

After a horrible accident, Luna is forced to resort to drastic measures in order to save Twilights life. While unconscious, Twilight meets a powerful stallion who claims to be responsible for death, sleep, and all other states of unconsciousness. He turns out to have quite a tale to spin for her, and what he reveals may well be the undoing of one thousand years of harmony.

And so, the rewrite has begun.
