Sunset needs a job, and Princess Twilight Sparkle has the perfect one. All she has to do is find a magical crystal in the middle of the frozen north and return without freezing solid or being crushed by strange golems under the command of a deranged mage caught up in the thrill of discovery.

And there's Flash to deal with too.

Today is the day that Celestia's School for Gifted Unicorns is admitting new students, and Sunset Shimmer knows that she's going to be one of them. No, she will make it happen. Reality will just have to keep up.

It was supposed to be a simple spell. How did I make it? Just to test a theory. Just to see what was out there, beyond reality. It shouldn't be possible It wasn't able to affect anything. Why did I do this?

A little story I used to put my headcanon about how time works between the main series and the Equestria Girls sub-series. It's a discussion of why Sunset is so young despite being older than Princess Twilight, as well as why timeliness don't always match up between the two.

Octavia notices her classmate, Trixie, practising a classical piano piece, and jumps into helping her master it. But why is Trixie so resistant?
