The nation of Equestria has been exploring their little slice of the universe for some time now. From launching probes into deep space, to landing ponies on the moon. Sending things beyond the grasp of their planet has become almost routine. However, with every mission into space, there comes a time when the voyage must end. What happens when Equestria experiences the end of a voyage that they didn't begin?

Princess Twilight Sparkle pays one of her rare visits to Canterlot since having moved to Ponyville. Visits that had become even more scarce since her coronation, and her former mentor is all the more excited about every moment she can spend with the young alicorn. The guards and servants seem to share her enthusiasm, though for some reason they seem awfully nervous as well.

As always, the two spend some quality time together, reminiscing about fond memories from when Twilight was a mere child under Celestia's tutelage. But the promising filly had grown a lot since then, and both are tempted to see how their relationship had matured.

And she'll ally with the other nations in the world, establish friendship and preach harmony, no matter how they may diminish her food source. What sort of mare would turn down the chance to help a friend? Twilight's been there for me so many times in the past, but now she's a princess with all the new obligations and duties that come with that. The transition... hasn't been an entirely smooth one. Who better to lend her a helping hoof and show her how one deals with nobles, courts, and politics than moi?

I only hope it doesn't end up costing one of us our sanity along the way.
