On the night before Hearth's Warming Eve, as she slumbered peacefully in her warm bed, Celestia found her dreams interrupted by her younger sibling, who comes to her chambers with an idea in mind.

What would you do if you wanted to redeem yourself? How would you make up for your misgivings? How far would you go to try and make things right? Would you lay your life on the line to defend someone about to have their Hearth's Warming Eve? These are the questions that follow Trixie as she seeks for something in herself in the world beyond Ponyville, and these are questions she must answer as she finds that someone is about to have their Hearth's Warming Eve ruined

Somepony tried to stop Fluttershy from being adorable. Things don't go well for him.

A brief moment between friends.

Twilight finally made some time in her busy schedule to go book shopping. Everything is perfect, and she is as happy as can be – until Discord shows up. He tells her that she’s wasting her time looking for books to read, and claims that even books lead more exciting lives than she does.

Twilight finds all of this rather difficult to believe – that is, until she finds out about the secret lives of books…

In the dregs of sleeplessness the princess stirs, thoughts of her old home rising unbidden in her mind. If she is to even hope at any sleep tonight, she must confront what remains of the library and move past the loss. Once there, however, she finds a friend with something on his mind, too.

After getting a taste of his own medicine from Lord Tirek, Discord has decided to take his reformation a bit more seriously. Sure, he has magic and friendship again, but it's clearly not enough to warrant his own throne in Twilight's fancy new castle. In order to earn the coveted throne, he figures that he has to be the best friend he can be.

While scrolling through the Friendship Journal for inspiration and pointers, an epiphany hits him. Since he was reformed, he has never made an honest attempt to make new friends by himself. As the first step on this new journey, he decides to rectify that. And who better to befriend than the other ponies that provided the keys to the chest? It's the perfect plan!

Too bad he doesn't really know what he's doing. Yeah, despite understanding empathy, Discord still has a lot to learn about friendship.

Things are hard in Ponyville for Fluttershy and Discord; mainly because of Discord. But when magic starts to go on the fritz and eventually starts failing altogether, it's up to the main six and the Draconequus to find out what's causing it and, more importantly, how to fix it.

This would be a lot easier if anypony trusted the King of Chaos to begin with, but with bigger problems on the horizon, some things will have to wait to be dealt with. Like trust. Or loyalty. Or friendship.

Of course, sometimes what we think isn't important to deal with right now, is exactly what's needed to prevent things from getting far, far worse.

Seriously, a lot.
