After a particularly awful day, Rarity's sour mood has her itching for an argument. Her target: Twilight Sparkle. Rarilight.

Sunset Shimmer is awakened in the middle of the night by the sounds of furious knocking coming from the front of her home. When she investigates, she's surprised by the source of this disturbance.

Twilight's clone barely escaped her grisly end, and is seeking refuge in the large city of Manehattan. She's quite fine with going it alone, until she spots somepony just like her.

Trixie's line of work is dangerous. But she's a careful showpony, and that's why she's only died a few dozen times in her career.

She thinks this is normal.

It all started with a simple question. "Can the portal go to other places besides Equestria?

The answer turned out to be "No, but we might be able to make one that can."

When their research is complete, Sunset and Twilight are pulled into an adventure in another world, where they meet even more doppelgängers of themselves. But their alternate counterparts may reveal some things about themselves they never knew.

Sunset is bored. Discord is bored. What better way to solve their problems than a wacky time travel adventure? A trip to a strange and mysterious era, where nothing makes sense, and everything Sunset knows about the world is called into question.

While drawing up the plans for the School of Friendship, Twilight Sparkle asks Starlight Glimmer to be its guidance counselor.

In hindsight, Starlight's reaction was perfectly understandable given the circumstances.
