Dark forces are rising once again. Evils once thought to have been vanquished when Nightmare Moon was defeated are gathering strength, and their attacks on the citizens of Equestria grow bolder with each passing week. To ensure the usage of the Elements of Harmony, Princess Celestia sends her best agent, Voltaic Shock, to Ponyville to act as Twilight's bodyguard.

But all is not as it seems, and an unexpected encounter with an old and powerful foe shakes up the playing field before the final pieces have been set. Can Voltaic help stem the tide of darkness threatening to overwhelm Equestria? Or will evil finally triumph? Read here to find out.

Notes: This story takes place a few days after "Luna Eclipsed," hence nothing from Season Three or even later on in Season Two being in here.

After Twilight's coronation as a Princess, she receives a package from a mysterious admirer. In it is a note with what appears to be a small crystal. She meets the sender in her dreams. Will she be able to keep him away, or will she be corrupted by his influence?

Princess Twilight Sparkle is living every little foals dream, something even she used to only dream of. Becoming a princess was wonderful, and feeling the love of those close to her made her feel ever so special inside. But as she begins to realize that she will need to start living a life without her friends, the very ponies who made her dream come true, she starts to fall into a sort of depression. The very thing a certain somepony has been waiting for.

Twilight Sparkle, the famed Alicorn Princess, after 3 years, grows tired and restless one fateful night. Going out for a late-night flight, she found plenty more than what she asked for, finding a home to stay at for good.

After rediscovering the jewel used in creation of Nightmare Moon, Twilight does whatever she can to protect it for Princess Celestia, until everything turns oh so very wrong. After all, Twilight always was something of a hothead, now wasn't she?

Sombra may have been defeated after his attempt to retake the Crystal Empire, but he was not destroyed. He still lives, and now he seeks to work his way into the mind of Princess Twilight Sparkle. As she struggles with the implications of her new immortality, she finds less comfort in the wise words of Princess Celestia, and is drawn to the dark magic of a fallen king.

NB: This is a continuation of a comic dub I found on youtube. You can find the link here and there. You MUST watch it before reading this, otherwise it won't make any sense haha. Also, I'm yet to come up with a decent description of this so it may change at some point, as will the tags.
This takes place in the same universe as the IDW Comics that featured Rarity turning into Nightmare Rarity.
Dialogue sentences that appear in italic is the conglomerated voice that gets mentioned, so don't get it confused with normal dialogue or words that appear in italic in the middle of other sentences.

Twilight lives a comfortable, expected life with the security of being surrounded by her mentors and friends. As she grows into a model unicorn, a dangerous being takes hold of the volatile Brood and drives them to war, breaking a long period of peace. After years of preparation for a higher order, Twilight is chosen to ascend beyond that of a typical sorcerer in a mysterious plan to counter the impending conflict.

During her dark, trying mission Twilight will discover a caged soul and unknowingly set them free, gradually acquiring an affinity for the darkness as a result. As she struggles within deepening conflict, she must push on and fight for what she believes in. With manipulation, deceit, and betrayal storming around, will she be able to contain herself and protect those she loves, or will she succumb to the creeping darkness and abandon everything she stands for?

Twilight wakes up, strapped to a hospital bed with a nasty enchantment that begs the question, why do they want to keep her here so badly? Stuck in a dream for two days, and with a little filling in from her friends, she learns that not only she has amnesia, she perhaps committed some very terrible crimes to pony kind. The mystery only gets deeper from there as conspiracy theories, tragic lifes and the severity of Twilight's madness gets uncovered.
Needless to say, she breaks free.

Twilight Sparkle is the prized student of Princess Celestia, two-fold champion of Equestria, bearer of The Element of Magic, and general mare of renown. But we are all a product of our history and Twilight, along with the whole of Equestria, is no exception. When she is asked by Princess Celestia to look into an strange new field of magic, our studious heroine will get to learn first-hoof just how fickle history, and how important its quirks, can be.
