Something about Lightning Dust just seemed a little 'off'. Sometimes she didn't react the right way to the world around her, and sometimes the way she reacted was positively frightening... but it wasn't until she laughed off nearly killing a couple of ponies that anypony actually realized just how messed up she was.

Cover art is by the amazing and godlike Conicer.

Just a story about two background ponies at a donut shop...or is it?

I wanted to do a sequel to "Two Background Ponies Eating Cookies" after seeing how popular it was, but I was short on material as I pretty much hit all my nuances with the show in the first installment. I basically had to change things up a bit. This might still work as an on-stage production, but it would have to be an ensemble (something more akin to what "Second City" might do) than just a dialogue.

I regret to say I don't think this is quite as good as the first. Since I am already aware of that, please don't overload the comments with things like: "Not as good as the first", "The first was better", "This was alright but the first was funnier", etc.

Just a story about two background ponies eating cookies...or is it?

This differs from my usual fare. Basically, it's a short, comedic look at what happens when a couple of otherwise mute and indifferent background ponies decide to one day start pondering their own existence. It's more mature than my regular stuff...definitely for the older audience.

This story was originally a script for an on-stage dialogue between two actors with minimal props. (Namely, a table, two chairs, and a plate of cookies...with maybe one or two bits of costuming just to make the audience know from the start that they're representing background ponies.) But as this site doesn't accept scripts, I've translated it into prose.

The image of cookies used for the story is a public domain image.

You've seen it all; roommates, flatmates, sex buddies, harems, monogamous marriages, combat couples, business partners, patrons, pen pals, and everything and anything in between. First person, second person, third person, webcomic, video game, author avatar and anonymous Mary Sues.

Well, what if all of them happened at the same time? That's right, bronies everywhere need look no further—this story has your escapist fantasies covered. Because you/he/I just moved into Ponyville U, and Princess Luna did too.

NOTE: This story will be going on hiatus, to resume in early December 2013, as I will be participating in NaNoWriMo, and that will eat up all my free writing time until the end of November. Sorry for anyone who is actually waiting on it.

The Cutie Mark Crusaders are the best of friends, but when life sets them on different paths, can their friendship survive? Will they find a way to bridge the growing gap between them?

While the Mane 6 are away on royal business, the three rambunctious fillies find their lives changing. They are growing up, and growing apart. Without the guidance of their older sisters, these fillies will have to find their own answers. Their single-minded focus on finding their cutie marks is no longer enough to build a friendship on.

Is this the end of the Cutie Mark Crusaders?

---

This story will occur in three acts: Apple Bloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo. The main focus of the story will shift to
each filly in turn as the acts progress.

This story contains a romantic relationship, but will involve no more than mild reference to any mature content beyond what is roughly age-appropriate. This relationship, while integral to the plot, is not the focus of the piece, so don't be disappointed.
