Rainbow Dash has always had her head in the clouds, physically, but is always brought back to Equestria by the no nonsense common sense attitude of her best friend, Applejack. This story is an AppleDash fic, and takes place after the Season 2 finale of MLP:FiM.

Follow-up to "The Things We Leave Behind"

After years and years of hard work, Rainbow Dash has finally achieved her life's goal: becoming a member of the Wonderbolts. But when things don't go entirely as planned in her first Wonderbolts Derby, a promise from her past drives Rainbow Dash to tears. Will Rainbow Dash be able to overcome what she calls her only fear with the help of friends both old and new, or will the pressure simply be too much?

A short trip to Canterlot with Rainbow Dash and Applejack is the perfect opportunity for Twilight to test out her new long-distance Teleportation spell. But a nasty cold dashes the hopes of a quick trip, and makes the spell disappear in smoke: instead of arriving in Canterlot, the three find themselves in the nearby Everfree Forest, and discover that their location is not the only thing that went wrong.

While Rainbow has exchanged her wings and tail for a straw blond tail, Applejack has acquired a rainbow tail as well as a pair of strong, blue wings.

While Twilight attempts to find a spell to return the body parts to their rightful owners, the others must attempt to deal with this situation... and with their changing feelings.

When your life is as dull a gray as the world that surrounds you, the mundanities can make it all seem meaningless. Sometimes all we need is a little color -- or six -- to reintroduce us to what truly makes life worth living.

Most importantly however, understand the rocky and twisted road that shaped the DJ we have all come to know and love.

Twilight's trying to find out what makes earth ponies special, and her efforts start a chain of events that lead to Applejack and Rainbow Dash hooking up, and Applejack trying to be the iron pony to the point of endangering herself seriously. Grimlight- the cast go through a lot, but don't lose heart or become cynical, and the endings are happy. Kindle version available, linked in chapter one!

The island holds many mysteries, being the rumored birthplace of Discord. Six ponies find their way through the island, but they are not alone. Separated in this new territory, friendship will be put to the test as the quest for survival consumes loyalty. Relying only on skills and wits, the journey for new life begins in an age of darkness, but there is something standing in the way. In the race for survival, only the fittest will survive, but this time there won't be any friend there to cover up flaws. Sinister hands lie at the center of it all.
