It is 5 years since the defeat of Discord and Equestria is enjoying prosperity and peace under the young Alicorn Sisters. However, fractures are occurring in the sisters bond and a new enemy is surfacing to take advantage of the situation.

Follow the story of the Nightmares, a secret branch of the Equestrian government. And Night Wing, a young Royal Guard Cadet. Does he have what it takes to be a Nightmare and help defend Equestria.

What is in a smile? The best adversity against enemies is a smile, such is the only weapon for those so overwhelmed by that we cannot control. Pinkie Pie has smiled, the afterthought of a perpetual smiler never scratching beyond the surface meaning of a smile. When a pony who knows of the Pinkie Pie who didn't even realize the surface value of a smile comes into Ponyville, Pinkie Pie will realize the true value of a smile and with it comes the pride of something with weakness in its core... the will to overcome again.

I'd like to say it's my first ever time writing for an audience that wasn't my English teacher, but I don't particularly want that weighing on you guys. Basically, I want you guys to give constructive criticism but I want it to be because of my writing abilities and the fact you want this to continue and not the fact that this is my first fanfic.

When Rainbow Dash is offered a high ranking weather position in Cloudsdale, she must choose whether or not to continue down the path of becoming a Wonderbolt, a possible outcome of accepting the job, or remain in Ponyville and risk letting her dreams slip away for good.

Discord, for a master of chaos, was actually a very good planner. Despite the confidence that he would bring Equestria to its knees in mayhem, several millennia of experience had taught him to have a back-up, no matter what. And after watching from the sidelines as Princess Luna became Nightmare Moon, he knew he had found an ace in the hole. Despite his defeat, Discord's greatest trick was still to come.

You know what this means: Equestria's greatest Nightmare is back. And this time, she's not alone.

A man gets transported to Equestria thanks to a particularly strange event.

After doing some pretty dastardly things, he finds himself on the run from the law and ends up in the presence of one of the most unlikeliest characters who gives him a strange deal: find out the true meaning of friendship and the magic therein within one month, or spend the rest of his life imprisoned in limbo.

With his freedom on the line, the man has to learn the value of friendship and what he learns could change his life. For better or worse, only time can tell.
