Year ACA 37, the monarchy of Equestria has finally dissolved, with unicorns and alicorns just a distant legend, the land that was once known for rainbows and sunshine is now a land torn by war, sadness and corruption.

Somewhere, in this forsaken land, an alicorn with a set of broken memories wakes up amidst the dead. Not knowing her purpose or identity, she explores this new world, guided by a voice in her memories.

As all ponies know through History classes, a thousand years ago, Equestria was in turmoil. Attacks from both outside and inside threatened to fell Equestria.

As a counter measure, a troop of Elite Royal Guards for each Princess, Solar Priests for Celestia, and Night Keepers for Luna are chosen as their most trusted army, both for offensive and defensive purposes.

This story is about one single particular Night Keeper, one that had been raised by Princess Luna herself, the unicorn Morning Star.

My name is Esau Cursehoof. I am a mare that lived with my family in Tartarus, the most well-known and strongest prison in Equestria, as Keepers. But that was only until the Changeling incident happened. Now all those that I loved are dead and they'll never come back.
