Nighmare Moon was banished for one thousand years. She had more than enough time to plan her return. Every aspect was intricately planned down to the letter, for maximum dramatic effect to instil sufficient terror in her future subjects that they would bow down without question.

At least, that was how the plan was supposed to go.

This story is not meant to be taken seriously, and was written for comedic purposes.

Long ago, Equestria was ruled by King Cosmos and Queen Galaxia, two kind monarchs who loved their land so much that their devotion to Equestria ultimately left their two young daughters orphaned and alone.

The sisters’ most precious belongings were left behind when Nightmare Moon was banished. On the pages of two simple leather books that remained hidden in the Castle of the Two Sisters for millennia, the princesses describe in detail their happiest moments alongside the daily struggles of their adolescent years. They also express their deepest fears as they face the looming threat of war and the pain of losing their parents.

Celestia’s increasing indifference towards the pony who needs her the most serves as the catalyst for Luna’s heartbreaking descent into darkness as she continually pleads for her big sister’s love and attention. The growing tension between the sisters is documented through the eyes of the princesses themselves.

Princess Luna is certain, in her final moments on the moon as the last of her strength dies, that she deserves it.

A thousand years later, Princess Celestia prepares for her sister’s return.

Luna struggles with the edges of sanity and feelings of depression after her time of lunar isolation.

Celestia tries to not let her regrets haunt her. During the early days of her rule she made many mistakes, some of them taking over a millennia to unmake. Yet there are some she can't ever take back, no matter how hard she tries. In her briefs of respite she'd travel to her sun to reflect upon some of those mistakes.

The sun is a lonely place, one where Celestia can collect her thoughts. Yet unexpectedly, there is life there, the kind nopony would ever guess. For on the sun there is a garden blooming with the wildest of flowers...

This was the first fanfic I ever wrote. I finally took the time to edit it for release since I feel like it deserve a home somewhere. Don't expect anything amazing from this one.

Celestia and Luna are having a drinking night.

After they drink too much, they decide to play video games.

However, video games have not been invented. Therefore, they must visit the future to steal some.
