Twilight confronts Sunset about her self-deprecating tendencies during a game of chess.

It has been a month since the friendship games, a year since the fall formal. But still Sunset Shimmer struggles with her thoughts and feelings towards her past mistakes. Her bad thoughts only have gotten worse lately due to the fact that she is the one who had to catch Twilight up on everything…including things she would much rather forget. One day she decides to go somewhere she hadn’t gone in a long time, how could she ever had known that this day would change her life forever.

This story deals with some deep and dark themes so just a fair warning to anybody who has triggers.
Consists of topics like: Suicide, depression, SH, trauma, homophobia, transphobia, some violence, physical and mental abuse. (Parent-child). Sexual assault (not detailed or straight up rape, it’s just some people coming onto another character). None of these topics go into graphic detail, only referenced and if there is a chapter that gets a little to descriptive I will put a warning in the authors note.

Misty has finally left Opaline and her lair behind, but moving out is only the first step of shedding the thoughts and doubts that still haunt her.
Luckily, her new friends are willing to help her adjust and teach her about life in Maretime Bay.

An alternate take on events that begins in the middle of Chapter 2, Episode 6 ("The Traditional Unicorn Sleep-Over") of Make Your Mark. This story assumes reader knowledge of the show up to that point.

Zipp had a lot of suspicions about Misty, the strange unicorn that Izzy had met in town earlier that day and invited to an impromptu sleepover party at the Brighthouse. But while she'd been exercising her detective skills on their guest all night as the oddities surrounding her piled up, she hadn't meant to drive Misty away. So when, after Misty flees from the party in a panic, Zipp notices that she's still out in the Brighthouse's garden, pacing frantically, Zipp decides to see if she can talk to her, and figure out just what is going on with this curious new pony.

And what she learns may well give Zipp room for pause -- and a need to exercise some comfort skills.

Please note that while this fic is rated E, there is some mild discussion of parental/familial abuse.

Written for a Quills and Sofas Speedwriting panic. The prompt was something to do with lightning. I can’t really remember to be honest. It was a year ago! Thought I should polish it up a little bit and get it out there.

Set before the events of the Friendship Games, Twilight’s absence makes Sunset Shimmer wonder if she still has a place in her friend’s heart. After a tormenting series of events she will have to make a big decision: have faith in Princess Twilight’s friendship and enjoy her other friends cheerful mood or travel through the portal once again to make sure everything is Ok in Equestria.

However, they begin to notice that Sunset isn't so enthused, and quickly figure out it's because of how lonely she's always been during the winter holidays. Thus, the girls decide to throw her a special Hearth's Warming-themed party, with the help of Princess Twilight Sparkle. Will they succeed in getting Sunset into the holiday spirit?

After a near death experience that almost claimed his life, and a recent scolding from Sunset Shimmer, Twilight decided it's time she, Spike, and all of their friends had a heart-to-heart talk about their friendship and the actions that says otherwise.

It had been many moons since the Anon-a-miss incident that had scarred Sunset's life and puts her friendship in jeopardy.

Now that Christmas is around the corner, some old wounds begin to reopen for Sunset Shimmer, who decided to isolate herself from the rest of her friends, for the holiday.

However, when Spike the dragon-turned-dog came from Equestria to deliver a heartwarming gift for the girl, both he and her had a little heart-to-heart talk that reignites the Fire of Friendship from Equestria.
