As Chrysalis holds her wife one night, Twilight just can't seem to doze off. The semi-newlyweds have cuddled their way into dreams many times but tonight, Twilight finds herself unable to rest. The alicorn dwells on a mare who held her like this before, when she was only a filly, chasing away the nightmares when her parents weren't around. She can still remember her sweet, sad singing- but what was that tune again...?

It all began on a shopping trip with her cousin, Sunset Shimmer. Cadence saw through the illusionary magic of a young Chrysalis; who was only hunting for love-based emotions from memories. This simple moment set in motion a chain of events, that neither foresaw but both would never forget.

An adolescent, and starving, Changeling Princess has captured Princess-to-be Cadence, and on the night she was supposed to start foalsitting, too. Cadence refuses to feed her love until the job is done. Chrysalis knows what she needs to do.

Goldenrod Gleam is starting at Canterlot High soon, today she has come for a tour and Sunset Shimmer is still signed up to show newbies around.

Something Sunset has to admit is very attractive.

A kingdom needs a protector to defend it.
A protector needs a weapon to defend the kingdom.
A fundamental truth from the times where Luna was the hero of Equestria instead of a nightmarish fairy tail.
So now that Luna has finally returned, she is in need of a new weapon to protect the kingdom once more.

But when swinging a sword becomes a major obstacle for the princess, is it the fault of the blade, or the one who wields it?

Twilight questions who's journal she's reading and ends up having a talk with Sunset Shimmer.

After that, Sunset and 'Twilight', become friends.

Sunset has had the same jacket ever since she came to Canterlot High. Rarity and the girls want to treat her to some new clothes, but some things are too important to be replaced.

Life is looking up for Sunset Shimmer.

With her grandstanding at the Battle of the Bands, Canterlot High has taken a new approach to her. Amends have been made, friendships have been restored, and Sunset is on the fast track to becoming a better person.

But even now, there are still apologies that have to be said.

For her Spring Break, Sunset returns to Equestria to make up with her estranged family: the parents that raised and provided for her, and the sister she left behind. But a lot has changed since then, and some wounds won't heal by just saying 'I'm sorry.'

Fixing friendships is one thing. Sunset will be put through her hardest test yet when she tries to bring her family back together.
