The only difference? He has a pair of wings in a sea of hooves and horns. Something that usually calls unnecessary attention.

When he's tasked with retreiving a pony's keys as proof of success, he learns a moderately important lesson.

A duty bound a duty fulfilled. There was an agreement between the close town of Ponyville and the nearby Cloudsdale to have a Wonderbolt take up the duties of a simple officer to boost moral. Having nopony else she believes competent enough to take up the task, Spitfire reluctantly takes up the night shift where she gets the call to investigate a supposed train accident. The report indicated a single fatality on the tracks of a train carrying coal freight near midnight.

Grumbling at the cold, she meets with the one witness and allows herself to be lead to the scene...

Every year, Dinky is part of a big Hearth’s Warming gathering, and this year she impulsively decided to invite Lily Longsocks, her fillyfriend. Of course Derpy says yes; the more ponies, the merrier.

The only problem is, Dinky hasn’t mentioned that she and Lily are more than just friends, and she’s worried what Derpy might think.

But this particular Hearthwarming, Cabinet Secretary and tea enthusiast Dotted Line plans to do his level best to see it, at least, take a break. His ponies need to go home to their families, and he, well, he has plans this Hearthwarming.

"Gotta be honest with you two, I think 'war' ought to be a curse word. You know what they say; it's Tartarus."

Applejack shook her head. "No, I gotta disagree there. War's war; Tartarus is Tartarus. War's worse."

Rainbow Dash raised a red eyebrow. "Yeah? How d'ya figure?"

"Good creatures don't go to Tartarus."

In a time that never existed, two unlikely ponies find solace in each other.
