This is a short story about Starswirl the Bearded. It is also a story about an Earth Pony. However, this is not a story about two ponies. This is a story about one pony.

King Sombra conquered the Crystal Empire, put the populace in chains, and forced them to work day in, day out, mostly for his amusement. Normally, the most that would get somepony is an execution. So, why was he turned into a living shadow, and then frozen for one thousand years?

Well, pull up a chair, my friends, and I'll tell you a tale.

Framed as a guidebook for humans trapped in the bodies of evil overlords, here lies the tale of a human in the body of Grogar, locked in an alternate timeline dominated by Nightmare Moon. How will he survive, and perhaps even thrive, in such bleak circumstances? Read on to find out.

In the alternate timeline where Sombra was not stopped, a human finds himself suddenly in Sombra's body... just after the dread tyrant has conquered Equestria. Now trapped in a world where just about everyone hates him, he must try to keep up the illusion that he is the villainous conqueror, while at the same time try to win over his new subjects.

However, this will not be so simple, as the real Sombra is not quite dead... and he is most definitely not happy.

Let's face it. There's no way everypony was going to instantly change their minds about Thorax over a song.

So instead, Spike tries a different approach, by pointing out that Changelings are not the only threat Equestria has faced.

Almost a year after what seemed to be the concluding battle in Celestia's great crusade against necromancers, something Mortem believes to be borderline discrimination, he discovers one of Celestia's armies setting up camp just outside his stronghold.

Not wanting to jump to any conclusions or risk angering the very powerful Princess, he concludes a diplomatic solution would be the best way forward. And so, he writes a letter.

Who would have thought it would be so hard finding shelter from a storm in a land known for being friendly and accepting?

Winter Blade is a rare changeling that is not part of the hive mind. being a changeling he doesn't have a specific talent and goes many places working as a mercenary for different ponies. he is paranoid, hates ponies,and is an amazing fighter. this story follows him on his adventures as a traveling mercenary.

After finding herself in a rather sticky situation, a young changeling has to figure out how to re-infiltrate society, quick and easy like. She could even disguise as the same pony.

She's not supposed to feel guilty about it.
