Two decades ago the city of Cloudsdale passed over a growing town on the southwestern outskirts of Equestria called Wild Bastion. Several months later a newborn hippogriff appeared on the doorstep of a local orphanage. It wasn't dark and stormy night, the date wasn't a mythical number reoccuring once a millenium, and the little bundle of solitude was nopony special.

Discord, Nightmare, and Harmony, the three deities supposedly behind the creation of Equus are infinitely older but during recent years they learned to appreciate the value of mortals and understand their threat. Unfortunately for the gods, the secret they kept from everyone else is about to be revealed and old hatred and games will have to be forgotten.

It's been a long ride, it really has, and even heroes need a break from time to time. Unfortunately, some heroes are just so hated by fate that even the most innocent of days have to turn into an experience leaving lasting wounds.

After the events in Manehattan Mistake has to get used to a life of blindess and the reliance on the help of his friends who decide to make things more bearable by leaving Equestrian winter and visiting a sunny beach in the Griffon Empire with all expenses paid by the crown.

Side story to Horn And Wings

Luna has been having troubled sleep and blaming herself for the death of Sharp Biscuit, her bodyguard and close friend. The recent invasion from the mirror world troubles her and she wants to make sure nothing ot that sort happens again. That, unfortunately, might involve some rather drastic measures.

Equestria seems to be safe though. With the new peace treaty between queen Chrysalis' hive and Canterlot even the paths through Everfree Forest are safer than they have ever been and the official addition of the fourth princess helped with foreign policy a lot. Still , Celestia is worried about a second hive that came along with the last invasion and their enmity towards Luna that might prove dangerous and she sends Twilight Sparkle to negotiate the terms of peace that would be respected even by Guiding Light and her hive.

There are two sides to every coin. It is true that Icy Gaze was imprisoned for capturing all Element bearers and almost killing them, chickening out at the last moment. It is also true that he did all that for a sum of money a pegasus of his career almost never has the chance to see and on the orders of princess Luna, possessed by Nightmare at the time.
It is understandable why he might be just a little unhappy about his current home, Canterlot castle dungeon cell, and wants to spread his wings again.

Also, Twilight "I'm not insane, stop asking!" Sparkle attempted to build an artificial intelligence to serve her needs and finally activates it.

I'm sure a pegasus and a bucket of bolts won't end up going against each other.

A mental patient and a batpony trying to finally find peace might be too much for this town to handle. Will whatever happened to them in the past follow them here? Will the townsfolk accept a batpony? Will the duo even care?
