Centuries have passed since the end of G4, and ponies have once again segregated by tribe. In this land divided by fear and hatred, Sunny Starscout still believes in the magic of friendship. She finds her inspiration in the ponies who came before.

Twilight meets a filly she feels bears a strong resemblance to herself. Impassioned arguing ensues.

Centered around the events of S9 MLP episode: Common Ground. Beware of spoilers.

Twilight is on the cusp of leading Equestria for a year. It's been an easy year with no major difficulties. No wars. No natural disasters. No villains.

At least until a villain from the far, far future appears in Twilight's throne room. She's escaping defeat at Twilight's hooves, with one thought in mind: she won't be stopped if Twilight doesn't exist in the future. And here's Twilight's past self, right in front of her. Easy.

Unfortunately, she's not the only villain with this idea.

*jumps on the G5 bandwagon*

You heard it from Izzy. Tennis balls are the new magic limiters. Neigh, they are the new magic limiter. Put a tennis ball on your horn, and no magic for you. Take it off, and... well, you'll see what happens when folks get pummeled by death lasers.

She just hadn't expected it would be counting up.

Short ficlet based on a prompt I got on my Tumblr blog. Original prompt was to write a drabble set in a universe where "timers are set on the wrist of every person once they are a certain age, slowly counting down until the day they meet their soulmate".
