Flash Sentry and Twilight Sparkle have hit it off great. They've gone out to countless places, hung out with each other's friends, and never seem to have a problem. They've hit it off so well in fact, that Twilight thinks he might be her 'special somepony', and feels like it's time he was properly introduced to her family. Will all of his training as a soldier help him survive for a few hours with her dad and brother?

Flash Sentry has been dating a certain purple alicorn for a few months now, and they make the most of their time together whenever they get time alone

This is inspired by Bad Seed 72's fanfiction "What Hath Joined Together". But the events in the story are not canon to the story's universe.
The story shows Captain Iron Hoof, the Captain of the Royal Guard, dreaming of his wedding to Princess Twilight Sparkle a little way in to the future of "W.H.J.T."'s timeline.
Meanwhile, Twilight and Flash decide to take a detour while flying home from Pinkie Pie's latest party.

It's the night of the Grand Galloping Gala and every pony is dressed up and refined for this most enchanting evening. But for Twilight Sparkle, it's more of a bitter sweet evening. She's fallen in love for the first time, but doesn't know how to handle it. The stallion of her dreams is the Royal Guard, Flash Sentry, and she's too shy and insecure to see if he returns her feelings. So Princess Cadance steps in to help her sister-in-law have the most romantic evening of her life.

Twilight was sure she didn't stand a chance with him. Flash was Certain that he wasn't good enough. That was the straw that Broke Shining's back as he played matchmaker... for a change, and set them up, unknowingly starting a whole series of events that would break his sister's heart and his subordinate's mind.
