COMPLETE HIATUS · 9:50am Feb 10th, 2018
Hi everybody!
I'm taking a break from Fimfic for a while, mostly to focus on offline stuff for a bit.
I've signed up for a professional 5-week scriptwriting course from the 3rd of March to the 15th of April, which I want to completely and utterly focus on while it's going on. This means that everything I've been working on will be put on HALT until end of March or even ends of April. I'm scared out of my mind about it, as I'll be with industry professionals who will probs think I'm a noob, but I will try my best to learn as much as I can.
I'm aiming on finishing Last Train Home this weekend, though, so you'll see a blogpost about that in a few days once it's finished. After that, I'll do a blogpost for TEL's anniversary on the 14th, and then probably go radio silent until my classes are done after which I will fully and completely focus on TEK. If I can somehow squeeze in a few chapters while taking my classes, I will, but I'm not going to pressure myself to do so. April will be when I start posting properly again, and hopefully have a lil' buffer.

Whew, that took a while to think up, don't know what overcame me. It's probably a combination of the fact that Mono likes Rarity, and the fact that I've been re-reading Lord of the Rings lately. Rarity is dramatic, and what better way to be dramatic than in an archaic style?
Anyways, I shall be serious again. While I am somewhat saddened to hear that you'll be taking a break, I fully support you. One can rarely devote all their time to writing, even more so for practically free. I myself should know that time is a precious commodity, and it often escapes us unnoticed. Besides, what good is reading fanfics if they're not good? Your scriptwriting courses will hopefully make your stories — which are already amazing — even better, and then we can all rejoice.
I wish you the best of luck in your endeavors, Mono, and hope that we'll see you gain soon. Just remember to relax once in a while, no one wants you to be stressed. Farewell for now, then, and may fortune smile upon you.

While a hiatus sucks, this one with a limited span of time, is by far preferable to the ones where it's just "I'm on break, see ya!" So I'll say, focus on what you wanna focus on, and come back when you feel like you have the time

That sounds like an excellent opportunity for personal and professional development, so I would definitely encourage you to focus on it as much as you think is necessary.
Ooh, script writing? That sounds pretty cool! Obviously we'll miss you while you're gone, but y'know that one sappy phrase: "absence makes the heart grow fonder," after all! I'm pretty excited to see the conclusion of Last Train when that goes up, I've been enjoying the style and humorous elements of that one.

Have fun! I've done courses like that before, be ready to write a ton of material for the classes, so taking a hiatus here is extremely smart.

Good luck! You'll be fine. The break is a good idea. It's important not to stress yourself out too much. I got sick once because I was under way too much stress from college classes. It was a bad time, A really bad time. Like scary sick. Take care of yourself, that's most important.
