I get what you were going for here, but to me it was just too short to evoke much emotion. By no means was this a bad story, I'm just saying it could be better if you lengthened it a bit.

...wow...I think..this is a first...the feels are there but I have to agree it was a tad short for the full build up for the knife in the heart moment

Eh, short or not, you got a few tears from me. I think you could definitely draw this out into a much longer story, although writing something that sad would literally kill me. I can't imagine how actual parents deal with this.
