We see Twilight and her friends as a happy group of friends from every part of the spectrum, but we also know that they all have dreams. Rainbow and the Wonderbolts, Applejack and her farm, Rarity and Canterlot -- they all have something that they're aiming for, but what would happen if they became who they've always wanted to be? There wouldn't be a lot of time left for their friends, especially if each of them were cities away from the others.
Saddened by their departures, both transpired and imminent, Twilight makes a difficult decision that even she may not understand, and she lets each of her friend's know about what she plans to do.
Right in the feels, dood.
I gotta say, it's on the spot on what Twilight is...yea she is a Mary-Sue that can do everything and anything if the script says she can, but she is nothing without her friends.
In these days of the MLP, I doubt Twilight would have thought of this, but you won't know what you have until it's gone, dood. And with everyone taking different paths, yea... I can see this happening in canon. Good show, dood.
Ah that's nice. It's hard to accept that your friends are moving on but Twilight seems to be handling it pretty good right now.
Ouch, right in the feels.
Only one nitpick, what is this Earth you speak of?
Twilight and Applejack have always been very close to one another. /

In my fanon, Equestria is either a massive country or a huge continent on Earth which shares the surface with three others.
That's just me.
I was a bit worried that people might be annoyed with it, but I went with it in the end.
The point was to give the impression that they would travel really far, leaving Equestria all together and having absolutely no chance of meeting each other.

How are you reading it so fast? It took me 5 minutes to read each chapter...
Twilight your starting to sound like a cross between the 10th doctor and Shadow the Hedgehog.
I think Twilight should've said your loving mother or loving sister, you know to really tuck at the heartstrings.

That would have been good but the problem is that people might not agree with it as much.
I've been thinking of a better way to finish the letter to spike though, so expect it to be changed in the future.
Wow that ending, is it sad that I could see this happening in the show?
1985986 Either one would explain the deep bond Spike has with Twilight even though they're of two different species.

I've changed it to: "Always Happy To Be Part of Your Family"
1986057 Thanks.

Thanks for the fave and the kind words!
Sadly, it hasn't been featured yet...
SPREAD THE WORD!
Just kidding.
Some of the stuff said in there was just, so relatable...
1985939 In addition to what Perfect Prime said, I have some information. In the episode "Hearth's Warming Eve," Chancellor Puddinghead, aka Pinkie Pie, has a line referencing "Earth": "the Earth is round."
Therefore, there is an "Earth" in the world of ponies. However, it is a possibility that Equestria was previously named "Earth" until the tribes founded the new land and gave it the name it is currently known by. So it is possible that "Earth" and "Equestria" are simply different names for the same place, one title just lost in time and therefore no longer in use.
Hope this cleared things up a bit!
(Picture not showing up on preview comment, so i'll have to satisfy with a link.)
Bravo...
That was some nice feels.

I've thought about how it'd feel if I had to leave my friends and my life behind, so that was partially the motivation of this story.
That was quite well written, a nice exploration of themes the show hasn't had a chance to touch on.
Very good work.
OH MEH GOSH,THE TEARS THAT FEEL!!!!

How sweet but sad!
This fanfic was sad that it got me
I find it interesting that this is essentially what happened in the finale. Though without the growth through the show and responsibility. This is an important part of growth we can get defined by our relationship with others.
