Element of Honesty notwithstanding, that seems harsh even Applejack standards.
Scootaloo being dead really adds an element to this story that a lot of stories don't have. It also explains why Rainbow wanted to do something but it also makes Applejack's comment more callus even if it was a true statement.
Some how, dying doesn't seem as bad as having done so during a stunt gone wrong while touring with a group called the Washouts.
Very interesting start.
Twincest is obviously coming, and that's what we're here for. But it would amuse me if this whole breeder bond thing was just some weirdly written smut Starlight had, and their marks ended up unrelated.
They'll still do the twincest thing anyway, of course.

This story is a commission from the same person as the last breeder bond commission so I'm not shocked by the similarities.
So, a few thoughts. I think the first kiss was kinda cute.
Any sort of threat of sending them back to the orphanage isn't cool but could work as motivation to get them to do what Rainbow wants them to do but maybe only as a last resort.
And... you can't leave the back story of the Washouts that vague. If Lightning Dust and the rest of the Washouts are in jail, that would imply that Scootaloo's death wasn't a simple accident. Jailtime would imply gross negligence or murder. We need more details, a flashback, something.

My thought was that there can't seriously be any way Scootaloo would be legally allowed to be on a dangerous stunt team. They probably lied about her age and, among other things, committed negligent homicide.

I suppose that would be true if she was 12ish like they are in the show. Might be interesting to see a brief interaction between the Barrel Twins and the remaining Cutie Mark Crusaders. Rainbow would probably go nuts about the Barrel Twins trying to find any other cutie mark than the Breeder Bond.
The wait was well worth it. The build up is nice.
