Twilight and Rainbow are dating! But all it takes is a little birdie (a.k.a. Applebloom) to let a little rumor slip to Applejack. After that? Well, the house of cards comes crumbling down. Except for Twilight and Rainbow. They're fine. It's everything else that falls down.

AYOO who's ready for another CXCD story that doesn't ever get finished? I AM. Although, I do already have half the story written out, so it would be a procrastination achievement to not finish this one. Can you tell TwiDash is my favorite ship?

My YT channel, if you're curious.

So far — cute.

Imagine a world in which every neighbor, fast food worker, mail mare, and even dog, might just be a spy, sent by Princess Celestia herself to spy on something. It was a fascinating thought experiment, one that most would instantly dismiss as ridiculous. After all, the only evidence of a secret spy network ever existing was a quite popular and publicized failure of a crown grant nay thirty years ago. Spies were a myth, plain and simple.

Lol, good to see that S.M.I.L.E. is covering their tracks well.

I love this, can't wait for more.

YES!
Ahem. What I meant to say was...
First of all, great intro! I really grabbed my attention while setting the tone for the story. And while much of the first chapter was just exposition, it was done organically enough that it didn't feel like a cheap info dump. It also jumped right into a tender moment with our couple which is something I always appreciate with ship fics. We also got a good look at their flaws (Rainbow's insecurity and Twilight's insensitivity) and how both help the other work past them, showing why they work as a couple.
All in all, really good start, and I'm really excited to see more.

Not bad. Although, you may want to edit this, because I think there are some errors. For instance:

Rainbow felt herself melt as, head lowered to the ground in defeat, she slowly slinked her way back to the Pegasus.

Is that meant to imply that Twilight's a pegasus? Because she's not.

I have an AU story going right now where Twilight is a Pegasus and I'm getting confused, lmao. Fixed.

I'm always happy to discover more stories featuring the best pony pairing :rainbowdetermined2::twilightsmile:.

So far it's really well done, I really do like your writing style in general as it seems to match the spirit of the show pretty well and this story is no exception. Also, it's good that you choose some point early in the show as a setup, as many of the focal points of the story (Rainbow's fear of being uncool and thus keeping to herself, Applejack's reluctance to accept things that are not traditional) were things the Mane 6 overcame later on in the show (or how Discord would put it: "Character growth is so boring").

Though I am not the biggest fan of Applejack being traditional to the point of homophobia, I always picture her as being accepted in the end (let's just forget Bridal gossip happened, I mean even Pinkie was a fearmonger :derpyderp1::pinkiecrazy:). Though I love how you portrayed Applebloom, with her not giving in to her sister, because of her own beliefs.

All in all great job, I'm looking forward to how this develops further.

They'll never figure it out who Dash is dating. Well done I love this!

Getting a little meta I see...

Of course, Rarity has already tried shipping each pairing of her friends and herself, really reminds me of this old banger :rainbowlaugh:.

Though I can't help but notice, how Applejack has not asked Rarity for advice regarding her opinion on same-sex pairings yet, and AJ isn't one to usually quietly keep to herself. And while I of course understand Rarity's curiosity, Applejack is still reluctant about the whole thing and I don't see what her plan would be after finding out who's the couple :rainbowhuh:. Then again she is probably just swept up in the moment and is just not thinking ahead, that would be more Twilight's thing.

Oh also I enjoy your little scribbles, which, while not the greatest masterpieces that I have laid my eyes upon, are still enjoyable as sort of short summary of the chapter .

Ah yes, classic Rarity XD

Hope you keep this up! Been a while since I read a good M6 shipping story.

Rarity had decided to go full dress-up for the occasion. After all, it wasn’t everyday she was tasked with the insidious task of spying on one of her best friends. She bore a black fedora with a long black trench coat with it’s collar popped, covering as much of her face from the side as possible. She tried her hardest to look casual, drinking heavily through the straw of a tall glass milkshake, and she had made sure that somepony other than Pinkie had lead them to their table inside of Sugarcube Corner.

Yeah, that's totally inconspicuous.

Anything else just wouldn't be right though

Man, it's starting to feel like you wrote this just to see how many old school TwiDash tropes you can fit into this fic...

“Do you think…?”

“Scoots, I will personally break your muzzle if you try anything.”

I stand corrected.

This chapter was funny, can't wait for the next one.

I was right, Rarity was never going to figure it out unless it in her face. Great chapter bye the way.

“He’s a baby dragon, Rainbow. Of course he goes to school.” She began trotting once more. “You probably never noticed because you wake up at the same time he gets out of school.”

Lol. I guess Rarity isn't the only one who has a problem with observing her surroundings...

Does this mean that Sweetie Belle still gets her bribe ice cream?

Great chapter. I really like the depiction of the CMC you have in your story, first Applebloom not telling her sister, after seeing her reaction to the news, and now Sweetie Bell trying to extort her sister. I like to imagine while she is mainly motivated by greed here, she still doesn't damn all the consequences for her own gains but knows that Rarity would never disapprove of two of her friends being together, quite the opposite in fact. So the combination of childishness while not being totally naive to what the revelation would do I find quite charming .

Also, Rarity actually having drawn Twilight and Rainbow in just the way they were discovered, is not only hilarious but shows her understanding of relationships in general and is just great :rainbowlaugh:.

“Oh, heavens, no!” Rarity giggled like a filly. “Two of our friends? Dating? A-ha! Leaves so much to the imagination, dear Applejack!” Rarity tapped her chin. “Hmm… which two would you think would pair up, Applejack?” Rarity met her eyes. “Which two would go to your orchid to have a secret kissing session?”

An orchid is a flower. And orchard is a collection of trees for agriculture

You're asking the real questions here :moustache:

everything hurts to write

11825307
Have you tried listening to melancholic music to fuel your creative juices? Or just songs that give off the vibes you're trying to portray in your story?

11825404
I listen to whatever I feel like at the time. I don't think I choose songs based on my mood, but I might and just not realize it.

Recently I've been listening to Stayed Gone, Loser Baby, and Finale from Hazbin hotel. I also binge Tally Hall, Will Wood, and The Living Tombstone. The songs I always come back to for repeat listens are Nonexistent Meet-Cute, How To Kill a Monster, and basically the entirety of the Cutiemarks album.

I usually listen to this on repeat these days. Or when I'm writing my story about shining and Twilight I listen to music about siblings. Also in the past I've utilized the creative boost one gets from taking lsd but I also live in Seattle so it's legal here. Not everyone can be so lucky

and the next chapter?
