Somehow I think that the kicker is that Shining Armor is going to be some kind of "Super-Breeder" pony that can get anything (literally!) pregnant.
After all, Alicorn getting pregnant was supposed to be impossible or at least had never been documented since at least Celestia and Luna were born.
