Well, well, well....turnabout is fair play and all that.
Gilda's not out of the woods yet, unfortunately.
Oh. Well then. Shit. Guess you'll get to hear of her sexcapades after all.
Oooooooooh?~

Enjoy your vacation, you earned it

O my gaaawwwddd!
Bullet dodged only to get shot by another...
Ibex sabotaging himself in the end
Priceless chapter.
Didn't think you pulled this all off so flawless, I am in awe 👍

Ibex are good at sabotage. Unfortunately it seems self sabotage is included
Maybe Cipio getting some loving get his ass - unstuck.
Funny how I am rather annoyed than angry at Cipios behavior. Guess how he got himself in this hilarious situation kinda mixed it, only the Queen has to fix Cipio and the war can continue serious again.
11594030
Further Cipios incoming one 👍
11594085
Sharing shows caring 👍
Hm... Do we get a Flocke out of Optio Virgo’s, Chris and some Tiercel like Giraldi?
👍

ok, the tribune objected, so you realize this would be considerd rape right? this is not ok, regardless of how much of a dick head he is.
Are these chapters supposed to be out of order as they are? Threw me off something fierce.
Also, gotta agree with 11594317 here, verbal consent has not been given, and he has expressed non verbally he does not consent. To continue is blatantly rape.

I thought they were goat Russians, not Republicans

This is a M-rated/T-rated release combo of the same chapter, so they get slotted in different places. When multiple R/M-rated chapters appear in sequence, what I do is, I put the adult ones first and then the T-rated ones after, with links back and forth between them. So if you’ll check, you’ll see that the order is the R/M-rated chapter 35 and chapter 36 followed by the T-rated chapter 35 and 36.
Or going further back, you’ll see that chapters 10-14 M-rated are followed by chapters 10-14 T-rated. As the next chapter (37) is going to be another M-rated/T-rated dual release, you’ll see the M-rated version of chapter 37 inserted after M-rated chapter 36 and before T-rated chapter 35, with T-rated chapter 37 being stuck at the very end after T-rated chapter 36.
It’s an imperfect solution for handling multiple chapter versions, but that’s the price for trying to keep the clop and non-clop audiences happy.

With apologies to you both, I am about to leave on a long three-day road trip and I really don’t want to deal with answering this at length right now. Until I get back and am able to mull my reply over more a bit more thoughtfully, please keep in mind two things: that the Changelings have a much different outlook on things—by some definitions seducing someone in disguise could be automatically considered rape—and this is a sex-and-war thriller that is touching on a whole lot of a different sensual subjects including potentially uncomfortable ones. I will address the question in the next chapter directly, but in the meantime, I hope you can enjoy the ride.

oh, i dont care that its rape due to it being fiction. rape happens, denying it in fiction is just silly. no its the implication for the characters. as characters depicted as morally upstanding agreeing to this is kind of incongruint. so unless you are suddenly throwing away your characters moral fiber (i have more faith in you as a writer than that) it leaves me to conclude that this is NOT immoral to the characters. one hypothesis is that the definition for rape in their culture reflects that of those of older times. where rape was not a crime between lovers. combined with there inherent violent sexual rituals that could be mistaken for rape in our culture, i can see why this would work this way for them. the ultimate way to resolve this is when the humans are informed of this, they would be PISSED. one of the marines might try to pull a gun in responce. it would be an interesting interspieces conflict to explore.
Optio Virgo is adorable if rather pathetic. I can relate to this. I look forward to her proving to be even more compatible than Vaporeon for humans in future chapters.
Holy shiiii that ending! The chapter was pretty good! Even the turn of events that got Gilda Out of the hot Seat.
Just to be thrown back in.
I wonder how many changling and marine visits Rubens Virgo gets in the near future.
11594581
Getting up to marines and changelings asking "hey wanne fuck/mate?" And getting away with it successful?!
I mean when word gets out about changelings and how to feed them?
Also changelings taking care of battle orphans sounds like a good Idea.
As I loaded up this chapter born this way started playing XD
11594014
My thoughts exactly!
Nope. As I was writing this, I realized two things: first, that it was very likely that hitting the first scene with Marco and his friends would stop the proceedings in their tracks, meaning they'd never get to what happened between Gilda and KK. And second, that since KK didn't know about anything else that happened with Gilda, he'd assume that their time together would be revealed and thus try to soften the blow for Gilda's friends and comrades.
In other words, he was trying to help her. Despite being involved in all sorts of shady business as a Capricorn Adept, our favorite ibex is a bit too honorable at times.
11594030
Yep. In fairness, he thought he was helping her by softening the blow for her friends. We'll see how well that worked next chapter.
11594085
We'll have to see what happens with our new favorite and currently inexperienced Optio going forward. Never mind the cider, but one wonders how long that will last among the Changelings.
11594096
Thanks! I'm finally catching up on comments from my hotel room in Vegas, having just arrived last night.
Gilda's enjoying this way too much. And so did I, writing it.
Yes, but in fairness, he thought he was helping her by trying to soften the blow for her friends. He also thought he'd be preempting Tribune Cipio telling them and painting some false version of events in their minds designed to hurt her.
Thanks you! I enjoy seeing your comments, as always.
11594410
Sorry for the delay in answering this. I thank you for making clear your concerns in a thoughtful and polite manner. My experience is that doesn't always happen.
It isn't immoral to the Changeling Queen, no, for reasons she'll explain. As for Gilda and the rest, they're under the influence right now, and you know what that does to their emotions and inhibitions. Nevertheless, I will take pains to address these points in the coming chapter, which won't be out for some weeks.
Food for thought, but not quite tracking my own thinking on the subject right now. I'll keep that private, however, since I don't want to spoil what's upcoming, except to say that it's going to be another very M-rated chapter where some interesting and occasionally difficult topics will be discussed.
To be honest, I kind of doubt it. They're pissed at Cipio to begin with and might well blame him for the loss of their comrade. The only way I see them doing that is if they saw a rape of an eagless or cub in progress, and that's not happening here.
In any event, thanks again for taking the time to write your response and clarify where you were coming from. I do appreciate it.
11594581
What can I say? I kind of like the girl, probably because I can relate to her, too. Pity we can't introduce her to Team Allure!
11594606
You said it. That was the twist I mentioned in my blog. As I was writing the chapter, I realized two things: first, that it was very likely they wouldn't make it past Gilda's first encounter with Marco and company. And second, that our favorite Starshina, being the buck that he is, would try to soften the blow for Gilda's friends and tell them anyway before the Tribune did so they wouldn't get a tainted version of events. And here we are.
I can't say for certain yet, but we're going to have fun finding out!
Be patient. All in good story time.
Everyone already knows except maybe the Marines. The better question is, how will they react to the news?
Actually, I'm currently thinking along those lines as well. We'll have to see how this develops.
11597562
How apt. Gilda might just about want to use that as a personal anthem later.
Oof... definitely don't agree with getting one over on the Tribune in this manner. This seems pretty fucked up.
11603441
Well, this is a fucked-up time where if the Tribune doesn’t get off his high horse and stop letting his fears or pride dictate his actions, he could cost lives, battles or even the entire city. There’s no time to be nice about things here, so the Queen is going to break him down using all her considerable knowledge of him and what makes him tick. Regardless, if you’ll scroll through the comments, you’ll see that you’re not the only one to complain, so I can see that I’m going to have to be careful with the next chapter.
Be following my blog for more information on it going forward. In the meantime, keep in mind two things: 1) that the Changelings have a much different outlook on sex and sexuality than griffons, and 2) that Gilda and Giraldi are under the influence right now. That outlook is going to be explored heavily in the next chapter, so expect some uncomfortable topics and questions to be posed. And yes, Gilda’s indiscretions are finally going to be laid bare, but again, Queen Lepidoptes will have some interesting things to say about it and a surprising point of view regarding it.
Cipio is lashing out at enemy and ally alike, he is a liability and a extreamly unworthy individual for his presumably capabilities.
I will look forward to the topic move away from him.
This guy is absolutely detestable.
Cipio is a coward indeed.
I think this music from Christopher Franke would be a good repeating track to play while reading this chapter:
I found the highs and lows of the theme pretty well matched up with reading the action in their memories, and given that the track is one meant for invoking memories, it's quite appropo.
This will eventually have consequences, I doubt Cipio could actually sustain his irresponsible and irrational behavior.
- Foreign Queen and her forces
- Human forces
- Griffons, Raven and other soldiers
Cipio doomed himself to failure from the start, only question is what it cost the kingdom for his failures.
