FINALY A UPDATE
Nice chapter ! Happy to see you back friend!
It will be interesting to see Cipio's and the rests' reaction to Gilda's "hot and botheted" memories, especial the one with the Starshina...
Makes little sense, since Giraldi and Fortrakt view point is more important. Cipio actually undermine his own command when he shows his subordinate how a leaders sometimes questions himself.
Than again, he will show insecurities himself.
Cipio insults the QUEENS legitimate and truthfully statements, like holy shit... did he actively tries to alienate all his allies on purpose?!
Not necessarily in that order... right?
Clever... I would use birds in night raids to smuggling parasites in low numbers into the City to slowly decimated their numbers over time. They instead try a all out attack with parasites activities in plain sight.
Cipio is a competent lead even if he is fatigued, that mutch we must give him credit for. I once played a tactical shooter with editors of maps and action for two days a day it wiped me of higher reasoning when my energy drink high finaly let me crash.
Cipio can't be angry over Gildas sexuell adventures since he pretty mutch did the same, even unknowns to him. Unlike Gilda who was also under the influence of Zapp apple boosted sex drugs...
I guess on the other Talon Gilda has to give Cipio credit for acting under his ignorance rather superb in turn.
Absolutely priceless 👍
Overall a magnificent chapter 👍
I have more sympathy for Cipio, but I really hope he mellow out more. Gilda might want to be less aggressive towards him, he did a great job as a tactician. Still noone here has a absolut loyalty with exception of the Ravens, Giraldi, Fortrakt and humans.
Got to give slack and grant some.
Just as the females wish to experience a canon of a Tiercel to fire off, the males will feel how one is repeatedly fired inside them 🤝
World changing views despite preferences, very educational chapter with bloody fine views of many characters.
Re-reading gives us Gildas views in full.
Did Marco was present in the meeting? His view points would give a greater understanding of weapon handling and their advantages and disadvantages.
Further how he viewed it all as a civilian, while all around him well trained Griffons and humans boosted their moral and kicked back the enemy to a stand still.
I must say I have a great respect for the Queen viewpoints, it will in fact help me write my own Queen in a story that places a Queen at the very beginn of a start of a Hive.
Thanks for giving me inspiration for later material.
To experience life and death through Drone eyes linked to the Queen... I had not considered it.
Magnificent how stories and comments give us new view angles.
This chapter was well worth the wait
♡♡♡♡♡
Guess Cipio showed he can hold his own and lead others to archiving the same

- Am I allowed to claim asylum for myself, the centurion, and my comrades if things were going badly?
- “Yes, though, I don’t think we will need to. Only if Tribune react badly like that. I can endure.

Before this meeting:
But what will it be after?
Neat stuff to rewatch some of the battles through other eyes.
Now on to the juicy truth and the fallout.
As always a great chapter, my views on sexual contents of the story notwithstanding.
That said, I'd like to thank you Firesight for taking the time to upload the T-rated versions of chapters. I might not have left a comment before but I am keeping up with the story largely because of your willingness to do so, which is greatly appreciated.
herself
Cipio had a shit day as you can have. Quite funny that Giraldi might be able to help him with the issue with his wife too...

Good to see that even M Bison approves!

We know they're important. He doesn't. And he's not about to show any weakness in front of others or be bullied into doing something he doesn't want to if he can help it.
As I think you're right, I added a blurb:
She's patient, but only to a point. She'll let him get away with this as long as she get him to see reason, but if she decides he's being too stubborn and insulting for his own good... watch out, Tribune.
As he's off-duty now, it's up to him. It might be eat, sleep, then wake up snuggled with Tara.
Well, look at it from the Cloven perspective. The dragons succeeded in escaping and warning Aricia. So at that point, the Cloven have to act immediately to retain maximum surprise and advantage, before the city can fully ready itself to fight.
Yeah, that's a bit longer than I can go nowadays. Or would want to.
He's got plenty of other reasons to be angry at her right now, but learning that would probably give him all the ammo he needed to get the Queen to strip Gilda of her command chain. You'll find out what happens there next chapter.
Thanks!
That is the lesson Gilda herself has to learn here, and in the end, she's no less stubborn about learning it than Cipio is.
You're not wrong!
That was the purpose! And for as much trouble as the chapter gave me writing it, it turned out well in the end. I'm pleased with it and I hope everyone else is, too.
No. If you recall the last chapter, Gilda noted early on that Imlay had vetoed the idea of Marco being there, saying he didn't trust him not to open his mouth and make a tense situation worse. I deliberately chose to exclude him from this, using that as an excuse. For him to stay would have badly complicating things and forced me to write yet another perspective, when the ones I had were already making me pull my hair out trying to create them. Don't worry, he'll be back soon enough.
You're quite welcome. It's a very good feeling to know I've inspired the imaginations of other artists and writers.
The Changelings are a unique race, who--like way too many others in the show--got nerfed and neutered. In part, I'm trying to restore them to their proper place. I'm also paying homage to friend and author Denim_Blue, who loved them and made much of the lore I'm now using and adding to.
Thanks again!
Cipio is a good warrior and leader who did save the city. It's his pride that's the problem right now, and a form of shortsightedness that means he can't see past his immediate military needs or accept that others opposing might have a point. Needless to say, I plan to resolve all this next chapter, in grand M-rated fashion.

Good to be back! And to finally see this chapter published after writing it gave me fits.
I don’t think I’m spoiling anything to say that the chapter will be very M-rated and centered around just that.
11578110
Google doesn’t do great translations, needless to say. With AJ_Aficionado’s help, I ran this by at least one Russian-speaking fimfiction author, trying to make it sound like something a real Russian would say. What I was going for was this:
Starshina: “May I request asylum for myself, my comrades and the Centurion if this goes as badly as I fear?”
Queen: “Yes, but I don’t think that will be necessary. In my view, the Tribune is the only one who may react badly, and I will deal with him if he does.”
=====
That brilliant DBZA take on Perfect Cell getting slain may have an echo next chapter in the destruction of the Tribune’s pride.
Well, the weapons demo might be a bit anticlimactic at this point, given he already saw a spectacular demonstration of them through the memory replays.
11578265
Thanks! It wasn’t easy to write, but turned out well in the end.
Next chapter!
11578699
Fixed. Thanks for pointing it out.
11578871
He might, but there’s somecreature else present who already knows him well and could do the job far better than Giraldi could. Don’t worry, the big guy will get his chance to shine later.
11578358
Appreciated. Thanks for not letting them spoil your enjoyment of the story.
You’re welcome. At this point, I’m strongly considering making a T-rated version of the latest chapter despite saying I wouldn’t in the author’s notes. So be watching for that. The next chapter will definitely have to have a T-rated version, since it’s going to be heavily M-rated for obvious reasons.

A T-rated version of the chapter is now posted.
Who destroyed the passed away Dragon brain?
A parasitic parashooter might just reanimate it after all!
What surprises me is that the parasites instantly gain control of the body, I guess they are at least clumsy at controlling them, until the properly settle into the brain?
We know the cloven can produce massive amounts of soldiers forms.
What have the Griffons again parasitic spider form swarms to defend themselves?
Airdropping them on the victims seems to be efficient.
Or hiding them in water...
It's even a better idea than poisoning the water I think. Because they are constantly forced into a hard to defend position.
Further are Changelings exposed, because they have practically stand ready from the moment they leave to the moment they return to make sure no 'alive puppets' are placed within / have been made sleeper agents in their collection groups.
Hope soon can parasites absorb the knowledge of a dead individual? I doubt they gain it as fast as they get the motor control, because holding and owning a book don't makes me automatically know what it contained. One needs to read a book to know its content and I doubt a parasite can play pilot and read a life worth of knowledge at the same time!
Really fun read, cool to see all the different perspectives we wouldn't normally get to experience.
11581387
You can presume it happened off camera. There’s no way the griffons would leave the body just lying there when Cloven parasites are around.
They might be at first for an unfamiliar race or form, but remember that they’re a hive mind who have had plenty of practice and experience controlling griffons by then. That means a parasite can take over a griffon body quite readily and manipulate it easily.
There are caveats to that, which have yet to be explored. But suffice it to say for now, there are certain limitations on how fast/how many they can produce even when you have an active factory. We’ll get into those more later.
If they can airdrop them in enough numbers, yes, but that’s the trick. Just a few aren’t that dangerous to an aware populace; they have to surprise or swarm you to be effective as an offensive weapon.
We haven’t seen the Cloven swim yet. Can they...?
They can certainly wear you down with a steady stream of parasites that requires constant vigilance, but the griffons are nothing if not adaptable. They could certainly figure out counters relatively quickly, meaning the tactic will steadily lose effectiveness over time. But the same holds true in reverse. It’s basically a race to see which side can adapt to the other more quickly and correctly over time.
It’s been demonstrated that they can detect the presence of Cloven, which gives them—and anybody they protect—a marked defensive advantage.
It’s a valid point. It’s not instant, no, but they can do so in a matter of minutes, starting with more immediate memories and then working backwards as a parasite more deeply burrows into the brain. You also have to do so relatively quickly, because once a host dies, the memories the brain stores degrade over time.

Thanks! For as much trouble as the chapter gave me, it seems to have turned out well in the end. here’s hoping the next one will be just as successful despite/because of all the adult content it will contain.
Did someone else noticed that Cipio earlier comments about certain things changing nothing, did in fact changed everything!
Plus against Cipio favor?
He indeed acted on bad assumptions and misconceptions, but that doesn’t make him a bad commander.
His denial of clear and easy provable fact do make him a incompetent one.
Situations change constantly, denial is death.
Adaptation is living and survival.
If not for Cipios redicules behavior I could respect him. But the way he is makes him unacceptable as a leader. He is a skilled warrior or tactican if need be, but without cooperation and adaptation to changing situations and circumstances he simple is not fit as a leader. Cipio seem to be ideal as a advisor though, in that regard he is more than ideal.
The females learned partially how males feel like, time for the males to learn the female perspective ~♡
Hard to believe that everything happening between the initial crash of their vehicles until Queen Lepidoptes showed up to take down the Cloven Overlord was barely over 24 hours!!
Edit-->You'd need at least TWO seasons of 24 to show all that fucking shit just for each person!
To bad we don't have anything comparable, I wonder how the other gender experience things.
Or what is a dog or a cat experience things over the day/night?
Smell, vision, their experience when they climb impossible high on furniture etc etc.
Queen Lepidoptes could make a lot of money trading experiences alone from interested individuals.
To experience things she experience through others alone by letting a human experience Griffon flight alone would be worth a lot $€£¥.

Cipio that unreasonable bitch boy...
Everything he accomplished was with foreign forces suffering for his ambition.
Yet he insult them all, discredit their opinions and things his half baked plan is worth anything if not for Changelings intelligence about the enemy and their military strength, the military might of the dragons and humans.
Cipio sure likes to give himself to mutch credit, but to be fair:
He totally expected to be a sacrificed piece on the map, just like he treated everyone else.
11820954
Indeed, though wasn't it more than 24 hours?
But with how activ they are all, 24 hours must have feel a lot longer.
From personal experience a 4 minute count down could feel like a lot longer.
