I ignore (almost) everything that happened after season 6.

The Dragon Lands have always been a very turbulent nation, with dragon lords constantly having to watch out for usurpers. Ember is no exception, as many dragons doubt the validity of her rise to power. One dragon will rise from the shade, to fan the flames of doubt and turn the nation against her. And most surprisingly, they'll be using the power of friendship to put an end to her controversial leadership.

Note: This fanfic works on the assumption, that the last three seasons never happened.

Back up. Since when would dragons care if Ember cheated? Did she even cheat at all? Yeah, Spike won the Gauntlet. But still.

Just saying. This is pushing believability. Does look funny though.

In the episode, well, the ponies do meddle in a foreign nation's politics, which is kinda shady as is. A lot more context will come from the story itself though. Without spoiling too much "because she cheated" is just one thing leveled against her.

But maybe I do need to rewrite the description a little bit.

Edit: Is this better?

Makes more sense. Still a really dumb story idea. But still funny.

Yeah well, I'm ready to embrace the dumb.

Ehhhh...I'd feel inclined to dispute whether the ponies actually meddled at all, because for the most part, all Twilight and Rarity did was observe and cheer on--all the rest was done by Spike and Ember on themselves, of largely their own volition (since Ember wasn't totally sold on the idea of teamwork at first).

Really, the only questionable parts I recall as the episode presented them was that Spike and Ember worked together (for which there wasn't any explicit rules against, at least that were revealed), the fact that Spike gave Ember the scepter after taking it (for which there was also no revealed rules against, and seems like it'd be totally within a Dragon Lord's rights to resign whenever they wished, but then I also imagine there was no precedent for such a thing happening in the past), and finally, that Ember had been flatly denied the chance to compete by her father, and entered the competition under a false identity. Of the three, its the latter that I would think would have any real chance of sticking, but then my first thought about the whole premise is that this happening at all seems oddly...what's the word...activist?...of the dragons, e.g. in their minds, why bother bickering about semantics and rules when you can just challenge the Dragon Lord outright and be sure to win, taking the title for themselves?

Fffff, just read the story.

Though it doesn't make any sense and it is a dumb story, it's really funny. I enjoyed it a lot. ABBDCC!

I find the whole process that she cheated unreasonable. Also, the story ending with her losing her dragon lord title pretty must stop.

However impressive writing, though I wish the ending and outcome was better. It's just my personal opinion.
